'Kennel Cough’ is an upper respiratory tract disease that causes a harsh, irritating cough which you can hear in the video. In certain cases it can also cause marked lethargy and depression. There are multiple viruses and bacteria that are involved in Kennel Cough disease, the most important of which are Parainfluenza virus and Bordatella bacteria. It is often perceived that only dogs going into boarding kennels require Kennel Cough vaccination. Although it is true that dogs are at a higher risk in boarding kennels, the disease is spread through proximity and if your dog spends times with other dogs, such as at the beach or at dogs parks, then they could potentially contract Kennel Cough.
