ARBC 2024 was one to remember!
We took 5 show horses and they all made a final.
Somerset One Time Devine owned by Cameronkellie Bond came away with the big win in the Classic Challenge (4yo). We feel so blessed with this achievement.
Twice Rapt owned by Greg N Andrea Lithgow finished 8th in the ARBC Australia’s Greatest Horseman
Branchvale Short On Time(Maggie) owned by Derek and Merle Potter finished 3rd in the Derby Challenge(5/6yo) including a massive 93 point run in the wet work!
Huge credit to Royalish owned by The Royalish Syndicate who marked a wopping 84 in the final dry work and in good contention for a win but unfortunately cows dictated the next phase which kept him from putting any further pressure on the top of the score board in the Classic Challenge.

Empire made it back to the Open Campdraft Final but due to a fall on first peg we were left with a fast reality check of the risks of our sport.
All our horses were on fire and it was a very special week of competition.
A big thank you to Kait and our kids- my ‘Biggest Fans’, Our amazing clients who have gifted us the opportunity to ride such a high class of horse, our friends and family and their ongoing help and support.

We really appreciate Derek and Merle Potter who own the well known and respected Branchvale Stud for trusting us with ‘Scrappy’ since his start as a 2yo. We have always believed this horse was destined to be a good Camp horse. For the benefit of a long career we have taken a conservative approach with his program.

We had prepared Scrappy to do the Snaffle Bit Futurities in his 3yo year but unfortunately due to lockdowns we were unable to present him.

As a 4yo we gave him some starts at a few Futurity Drafts with his best performance at Chinchilla with an 87 and 3rd place.

Since then from limited outings he has won a 1st go round in a novice at Chinchilla, made a few finals and picked up a couple ribbons. Now as a 6yo with plenty of real life experience he is starting to feel mature and ready to ramp it up.

Scrappy is by the 61 million dollar sire ‘Metallic Cat’ and out of ‘Peptos Sees Stars’.
‘Peptos Sees Stars’ is a 3/4 sister to Metallic Cats dam (Chers Shadow). She is an imported mare by Peptoboonsmal and out of Smart Starlight (Smart Little Lena/ Bunnys Starlight)

Many thanks to Angie and Darren Siebel for their help and support to get this job done. Unfortunately our other competition horse “Royalish” over reached and hurt his foot during his top 4 scoring GR1 run and was unable to continue into the next round.

We really appreciate the help from our Turn back team and our friends who stuck their hand up and provided their time to keep our horses warm while we watched our cows 🐮
