Ducker D Ducks

Ducker D Ducks Breeder and Supplier of Quality Waterfowl - Heritage breeds and Coloured eggs. My most concerning breed is the Watervale.

There are many breeds of waterfowl currently listed with the Livestock Conservancy as being endangered. I'd like to help preserve some of those breeds by encouraging people to embrace them as pets, and/or exhibition poultry. It is one of only two breeds developed in Australia, and so I'd love to see Australians embrace the breed and strive to make them common place in Aussie backyards. My second

breed of choice is the sweet natured Buff Orpington duck. Not only are they a lovely colour not often seen, they are of a docile disposition and quite affectionate, should one wish to cuddle a duck

💔

For ducks in South Australia, today’s sunrise brought fear and violence to their wetland homes.

From now, until the end of June, tens of thousands of waterbirds will suffer, and their numbers will continue to decline – all to cater to the interests of less than 1% of the state’s population.

South Australia’s recreational duck slaughter is government-sanctioned wildlife cruelty.

💔 South Australian friends, now is the time to speak up for wildlife: https://animalsaus.co/4ghs1gz

For those outside of SA, this page will give you the information you need to write to the Premier instead.

Thank you for never giving up on them.

That one cat, and it's owner, should specifically be dealt with. Video footage proof should be enough for the govt to step in and put a stop to the cat 😡

At what point does a pet become a pest? Meanwhile, here’s why one of Perth’s foremost black cockatoo rehab figures is saying he’s ‘never seen anything like it’.

A visual reminder of the impact of improper rubbish disposal 😞

As more people spend time outdoors during this summer, we often see bins overflowing. Please remember that if a bin is full or no bins are available, take your rubbish home and dispose of it properly.

Unfortunately, cases of entanglement are on the rise. Birds, especially those still able to fly, can be incredibly difficult to catch once entangled, often requiring multiple attempts.

Let’s all do our part to protect wildlife by properly discarding our rubbish.

I did know about female plumage changing to look as male plumage does. But I did not know that in some cases the resulting male hormones can also convert the right 'o***y' into a s***m producing te**is! 😯

The biological trick that allows a female mandarin duck to become a male.

Another reminder to always cut rings before disposing of them ☹

Another reminder to always cut rings before disposing of them ☹

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

This heartbreaking photo says it all. A simple bottle ring around this swan’s neck is a powerful reminder of how our waste can harm wildlife. 😔

Before you throw away items like elastic bands, bottle rings, or hair ties, always cut them. These seemingly harmless items can get stuck around a bird’s neck or limb, often leading to injury or even death.

It takes just a moment to make this small change, but it could mean the difference between life and death for our feathered friends. Let’s do better for them. 🩵

Please share this post to spread the word!
