A visual reminder of the impact of improper rubbish disposal 😞

As more people spend time outdoors during this summer, we often see bins overflowing. Please remember that if a bin is full or no bins are available, take your rubbish home and dispose of it properly.

Unfortunately, cases of entanglement are on the rise. Birds, especially those still able to fly, can be incredibly difficult to catch once entangled, often requiring multiple attempts.

Let’s all do our part to protect wildlife by properly discarding our rubbish.

I did know about female plumage changing to look as male plumage does. But I did not know that in some cases the resulting male hormones can also convert the right 'o***y' into a s***m producing te**is! 😯

Another reminder to always cut rings before disposing of them ☹

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

This heartbreaking photo says it all. A simple bottle ring around this swan’s neck is a powerful reminder of how our waste can harm wildlife. 😔

Before you throw away items like elastic bands, bottle rings, or hair ties, always cut them. These seemingly harmless items can get stuck around a bird’s neck or limb, often leading to injury or even death.

It takes just a moment to make this small change, but it could mean the difference between life and death for our feathered friends. Let’s do better for them. 🩵

Received a response to my email, regarding the "rocks" in the poultry feed 🤓

So... I've been wondering why the ducks have been putting rocks in their feeders 🤔
Each night they're empty of feed, but full of these things.

Then finally I realised that they're coming from the feed bag 😯 and can only assume they're solidified forms of the mineral supplements⁉️ (WA Consolidated Grains Super Poultry Mix).

I also now know why the bag seemed a bit heavier than usual, when I struggled more than I normally do, to pick it up 😵‍💫

Has anyone else had this happen?

I have sent an email (with this photo) to the feed company and awaiting their response.
