STRAY CATS!
We have another stray cat. This is a nice big grey male desexed cat. No microchip.
We are in a very different situation with cats. We are unable to continue taking in all the stray cats.
- We are a veterinary hospital for sick pets, having stray cats here not only stresses out our hospitalised patients but also potentially spreads disease.
- We are in peak tick season and simply do not have the capacity to house stray cats, let alone pay staff to look after them and feed them.
- There is currently no law or organisation regarding stray cats. There is no pound or shelter who will take cats. We have been advised that cats are allowed to roam and strays should be returned to where they are found. We disagree with this, however cannot take all the stray cats.
- Any un microchipped cat will be rehomed by us if we are unable to locate the owner after advertising as found for a few days.
-It is every cat owners responsibility to microchip their cats, so that if the cat strays or wanders while owners are away, we can easily re unite them. Without a microchip, it is basically impossible to do so.
Does anyone own this cat?
He will be rehomed on Monday if we cannot locate his owner.
