This post has taken me a little moment... The weeks leading to Christmas last year brought a lot of heartbreak and loss to people around me, and to be honest, to be me too. Five beautiful people lost their beautiful, beloved furry hearts, and the loss was felt, fundamentally. We navigate through this brave new technological age where we have enormous communication, but diminishing connections. May the bond with your dog bring you love and the simple joy of appreciating those simple pleasures we may sometimes take for granted.
A walk by the water. In the sunshine. Hearing the birds, or enjoying a simple, peaceful moment together.
Kane was in kidney failure for a few month's before his passing.
I had been walking with Kane Monday- Friday for nearly four years. He was the start of my day. He was my routine, he was my constant.
He was proud. He was stoic. He was handsome and incredibly intelligent. He noticed everything, from a different car parked on the street to an object out of place on our regular walking routes, and regular dogs we encountered, who he seemed to like, or NOT!!!
He was stubborn, and there was a tussle or two of wills between us, but he generally won the day. I loved him, and I miss him.
