Summer weather is here and it's feeling hot, hot, hot! 🌡️☀️🚘

1️⃣ Provide plenty of fresh water at all times – hydration is key!
2️⃣ Avoid walking on hot surfaces and during the peak heat of the day (early mornings or evenings are best). The 5-Second Rule is to test the surface by placing the back of your hand on the pavement. If you can’t keep it there for 5 seconds, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.
3️⃣ Never leave pets in the car – even a few minutes can be life-threatening.
4️⃣ Create cool resting spots – use fans, cooling mats, or shaded areas.
5️⃣ Know the signs of heatstroke – Panting, drooling, and lethargy are red flags!

If you notice any signs of heat stress, contact us immediately. Stay cool and enjoy summer safely! 🐶🐾

Ear infections are one of the most common issues we see in pets, especially dogs with floppy ears or those who love a swim. The shape of their ear canal can trap moisture and debris, making it easier for infections to develop. But with the right care, these problems can often be avoided or treated early.

Signs your pet might have an ear issue ⬇️
🐱 scratching or shaking their head more than usual
🐱 redness, swelling, or sensitivity when touched
🐱 a strange smell coming from their ears
🐱 discharge, which could look brown, yellow, or black
🐱 avoiding ear rubs or seeming uncomfortable

What causes ear infections?
🐶 moisture buildup from swimming or baths
🐶 allergies, which can make the ears inflamed and prone to infection
🐶 bacteria, yeast, or even ear mites
🐶 foreign objects like grass seeds stuck in the ear canal

One of the ways we get to the root of the problem is with an inhouse diagnostic test. This simple test allows us to identify what’s causing the issue, whether it’s bacteria, yeast, or something else, so we can treat it effectively.

💡We’re offering a FREE Skin or Ear inhouse diagnostic test with your consultation. Call us on 07 3286 1800 to book an appointment and be sure to mention this offer.

Healthy ears are a big part of keeping your pet comfortable and happy. If you’ve noticed any changes, we’d love to help.

Did you know your pet’s teeth need care too? 🦷

Dental health is just as important for pets as it is for us, but it’s something many pet owners overlook. Without proper care, plaque and tartar can build up, leading to gum disease, tooth loss, and even more serious health problems like heart or kidney disease.

Signs your pet might need a dental check-up ⬇️

◾️ Bad breath (it’s not just “doggy breath”!)
◾️ Yellow or brown tartar on their teeth
◾️ Red or swollen gums
◾️ Difficulty eating or chewing
◾️ Pawing at their mouth or drooling more than usual

Regular check-ups and cleanings can prevent painful infections and keep your pet healthy and happy. Just like with people, prevention is key!

💙 Book a check-up today, and if your cat or dog needs a dental procedure, you’ll save $70. Call us on 07 3286 1800 to schedule an appointment.

🐾🏡 Preparing Your Home for a New Furry Arrival! 🎉

Welcoming a new pet is exciting! Here are our top tips to ensure your home is ready for your furry friend:

Pet-Proof Your Space: Remove hazardous items, secure cables, and store away small objects they might chew on.

Create a Cozy Area: Set up a designated space with a bed, blankets, and toys to help them feel at home.

Stock Up on Supplies: Gather food, water bowls, a collar, leash, and grooming essentials.
Introduce Gradually: Allow your pet to explore one room at a time to avoid overwhelming them.

Safety First: Make sure your windows and doors are secure, and consider using baby gates if needed.

Get ready for cuddles and fun! 🐶❤️🐱
