If you're planning to compete, now’s the time to start growing those coats! The more coat, the more time you'll get. Breeds like Standard Poodles (spray up), Airedales, American Cockers and Black Russian Terriers will have a full 2hrs 45mins on the clock.

We want to see some 𝗕𝗜𝗚 transformations this year! 🤩

💵 Jazz will be giving out a $𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 for the biggest transformation. It doesn’t matter if you place or not, this one’s all about impact and is completely up to her discretion.

The Pup Cup Dog Grooming Competition is a unique and vibrant event that brings together a diverse group of individuals passionate about dogs. Whether you're a professional dog groomer, a breeder, an exhibitor at dog shows, an expert in the pet industry, or simply a pet owner who views their pet as part of the family, this event is designed just for you.

Our grooming competition is spread across two days in August with plenty of things too see and do! Our goal for 2025 is to provide 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 to all contestants. Thats right, free! To achieve this goal, we have asked our sponsors to secure their packages in advance to make this possible.

Our schedule is packed with so much variety to suit any professional pet groomer or dog show exhibitor.
Welcoming fresh faces and grooming veterans to our groovy ring 🥰

We understand that groomer’s hatch their finest work when given the schedule to do so.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝘂𝗽 𝗖𝘂𝗽 is humbled to provide our competitors with extra time in a relaxed environment to network, showcase and improve their skill set.

Our brief description of our classes:
Day 1 - Modern Styling
-𝐓𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐫 - Inviting any purebred or mixed breed dog to be styled as a teddy bear.
-𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐲 𝐅𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 - Place creative flair on a fusion inspired groom, styling any purebred or mixed breed dog.
-𝐈.𝐃 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐟𝐭 - Groom a dog to look like another breed.
Any breed or mixed breed is accepted.
-𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 - Pop all your passion into your imagination! Explore themes, bright colours and patterns and display your works of art on any breed or mixed breed desired. Contestants are permitted to do 80% of the work prior and will have 1 hr to do their finishing touches and add a backdrop.
All best in group winners of Day 1 will go head to head for Best In Show Modern.
Day 2 - Purebreed Showcase
-𝐖𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐭 - Respecting traditional grooming methods of handstripping and carding you’ll see a range of wire coated breeds such as the Schnauzer, West Highland White Terrier, Wire haired Dachshund and Border Terrier.
-𝐆𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐠 - Inviting pooches with flowing and shiny coats such as spaniels and setters to be groomed to their breed standard.
-𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐢𝐭 - For those dogs who are retired from the show ring or are beautiful pets - groomers may clip their shape in to replicate their breed standard (Clipped Gundog and Wire Coated Breeds)
-𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 - Get snipping! Celebrating our scissored breeds such as Bichon Frise, Bedlington terrier, Kerry Blue Terrier and Lagotto Romagnolo.
-𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐯𝐲 𝐁𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 - Welcoming a vast variety of dogs and grooming methods to the ring to elevate the understanding of breed standards.
This class showcases everything from an Afghan Hound, Lowchen, Border Collie, Siberian Husky, Pomeranian, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Chinese Crested Dog.
-𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐥𝐞 - Yip yip Hooray for all sizes of Poodles styled in show, retro or modified trims.
All best in group winners of Day 2 (excluding Shape it) will go head to head for Best In Show Traditional.

The Pup Cup Dog Grooming Competition & Expo is the first of its kind, uniting professional dog groomers, dog enthusiasts and those with domestic animals that consider them part of the family. The event will feature a Dog Grooming Competition for professional dog groomers, Expo and Coffs Harbour District Kennel Club Show. The event is free entry for the public and their pooches to attend, shop, adore and admire! With keen interest from local, interstate and international groomers the Pup Cup will not be an event to miss! The Expo will service those seeking retail relief and information stalls from community and not-for- profit groups will also make up the show floor. GET THOSE TAILS WAGGING!
