🐾 Meet Poppy, the mischievous German Shorthaired Pointer! 🐾

Poppy recently got into a bit of trouble after managing to eat an entire packet of dental sticks. 😬 While treats are fine in moderation (like one a day), consuming them in excess can be harmful to your pets tummy and can even lead to issues like pancreatitis.

After a quick visit to the clinic, we helped Poppy feel better by inducing vomiting and giving her meds to settle her tummy. She’s looking a little sorry for herself now, but she’s on the mend and back to her cheeky self!

This is a reminder that no matter how careful you are, pets can be sneaky. If there’s a will, there’s a way—especially when it comes to food! 🐕

✨ Keep treats and other temptations out of reach when you can, and if your pet ever gets into something they shouldn’t, give us a call for advice. ☎️

☀️ Happy first day of Summer! ☀️

We’re already feeling the heat and know it’s going to be a scorcher of a season. 🌡️ Whether you’re enjoying the cool breeze at the beach or lounging in the shade with your pets, don’t forget to:
💧 Keep those water bowls topped up with fresh, cool water.
🌴 Create plenty of shady spots for your pets to relax.
❄️ And yes, those higher electricity bills are definitely worth it when the aircon’s keeping everyone comfy!

Happy Summer everyone! ❤️

Every year at 11am on 11 November - the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month - we take a moment of silence to honour the men, women and animals who have served in, those who have perished in, all wars and peacekeeping operations.

We will remember them. Lest we forget. ❤️ . Not our original image 📸

Did you know that acupuncture is a great modality to improve our pets quality of life? 🐾 It works by creating localised reactions in specific areas of the body to stimulate the innate self healing mechanisms within the body. It works in similar pathways to our strong pain relief so can be fantastic for musculoskeletal and arthritic conditions.

It is also great for a lot of our medical conditions including epilepsy and seizures, autoimmune conditions, feline gingival stomatitis, IBD, skin, behaviour and for palliation in our older sicker pets. Really, acupuncture can be utilised in some way for most conditions and works fantastically in adjunct to our western treatments. 🧡

Dr Emma is IVAS qualified in both equine and small animals. This means she has undertaken both extensive study and intensive examinations to ensures she provides the highest level of acupuncture for your pets. She is competent not only in needling but also electroacupuncture (where a device puts a light electrical current through the needles to strengthen the treatment), aquapuncture (where points are injected, often with B12, to create a longer lasting response) and gold bead therapy (where gold beads are put into acupuncture points to create a permanent treatment). If you would like to find out more, please call us or book a consultation online with Dr Emma 🧡 📱🐾
