Meet Clancy.
I’ve been working with him since he arrived in care with DM Rescue a few weeks ago. He’s a cool dog and will make someone an amazing best mate, dog trainers assistant or sport dog.
Things to know about Clancy:
- He is a blue heeler and requires someone that is familiar with the breed, and/ or confident, firm and fair with handling, training and life skills.
- He needs solid guidance and boundaries and a balanced training approach. He was being fostered to adopt in a home that gave him a lot of love and freedom but this brought difficult behaviours to the surface: mouthing, leash reactivity, fence running, general chaos…
- He is very good looking and in great shape (desexed since being surrendered @ 2yrs old)
- Food drive: good, Toy drive: good; both could easily be developed and he is very fun to train. Walks quite nicely on leash.
- Prey drive: high; no small family pets around this guy.
- He is ok with other dogs, but this currently needs management and requires work. Is much better with females.
- He goes a bit nuts in the car; my guess is he’s travelled in a Ute tray and learned to bark and spin at cars. This means he stresses if tethered in the backseat. Have been working on decreasing his arousal and barking when in the cage on the back of my Ute.
- He is people social, grew up and is good with kids, very affectionate
If you have more questions, Clancy deserves a very good home, so message me or DM Rescue (Coffs Harbour).
