BBDT uses force free training and behaviour modification- showing your dog how to make good decisions I have developed that method. It is simple and logical.

I have seen the need for the development of an uncomplicated, no-frills method of dog training which clients can feel comfortable with and understand. It has no gimmicks and is highly effective. My method needs no equipment other than a flat collar and lead and does not involve the use of force or fear in any way, shape or form. Since the inception of Bright Bessy Dog Training, I have trained thou

sands of dogs, many of which had major behavioural problems, needed to develop some manners, had an owner that needed a helper or were young pups needing a great start in life. I don’t make unrealistic promises. I maintain a sense of humour and we am passionate about what I do.

WALDO (8yo) has had very little training- so we're making a start to rectify that!
He and his owner are doing an awesome job -he's walking by her side, he's stopped reacting to birds and is learning that his 'mat' is his place to relax.

BENNY hass recently been adopted from the Greyhound Adoption Program.
We're teaching him some basic obedience skills-particularly recall .

I would also like to give a big shout out to REGGIE (a pup) -who has not been able to complete pup school because he's quite sick .Lets hope that we get to see him again soon -your class mates miss you little man !!

BONNIE was found dumped and abandoned in the bush at a young age, then was taken straight to a pound.
As a result, she has had very little socialisation so has no idea of how to engage with other dogs and some people.
We are building her confidence so that her life will be more joyful and relaxed. She does enjoy chasing butterflies !!
The photo is a little misleading - she actually looks like a miniature Blue Heeler the size of a Jack Russell ...........................

BENNY was adopted by his new owners just a short while ago.
We had our first session 6 days ago.
Just so that you know, sitting is not the most comfortable of positions for a Greyhound.
Please see an exert of a text that his owner sent me ................... "Benny is going so well, everyone has commented on how good he is at the gate and door plus the body blocking and jumping up has reduced to almost nil. We are so happy with his progress in such a small amount of time plus he is calmer and happier. Training on the lead and recall is going well but will take practice. He's decided that sitting down is only done if he feels like it........."

Sometimes dogs are just not suited to training in a class situation .
They may feel pressure, overwhelmed and fearful -all of which often manifest in aggression .
Yhindi and Hank are two such dogs .
They have been taken out of the classes that they were in ,we'll train them one on one for a while and then see how they go.

WILLOW has had very little training -so we've started her off with some manners work .
She's going really well.......with the guidance of her gentle owner.

A Kyra saying:
Treat your dog like a mouse ie gently and respectfully - then it will reciprocate .If you treat it like an elephant ie using force it will behave like an elephant .....

BENNY has been highly reactive to much in the environment .
Look at him now- no reaction at all to passing by other dogs - what a hero !!!
It's very hard when you have a reactive dog, not to pull back on the lead when a potential 'trigger' is approaching.
Pulling back on the lead - tells your dog there is a problem and will more than likely bring about a reaction rather than stop one.

BEAU was quite reactive to noises outside -so we taught him to how to make a good decision - ie when you hear a noise, turn and sit on your station (mat) then you'll get good pay!!!

MOOSE learnt emergency stop in one of my courses . Look how well he's doing with his practise at home !! From all reports- this skill has saved many dogs to date ...
