Cavapoos tend to be outgoing, loving, and playful dogs. They make fantastic family companions as they tend to get along with children, other dogs, and other pets. Their sweet, gentle nature makes them a great companion breed. They also make great therapy dogs!

As long as they are well-socialized, they are even open and friendly with strangers. Although small, Cavapoos are relatively sturdy dogs, but they can be hurt by rough play. So, interactions between young kids and puppies, especially playtime, should be supervised.

This dog breed is highly adaptable. The Miniature Poodle does well in any type of home, including apartments, and fits in with just about any family type. They do well in most climates, but, as with many dog breeds, they are sensitive to extreme heat or cold. Because Mini Poodles are people-oriented, they do not like being alone and will not handle being left alone for long periods of time very well.

Cavachons tend to be extremely friendly and affectionate. They make good watchdogs, but do not make good guard dogs as they are more interested in making friends. They tend to have a happy outlook and are energetic and playful. Plus, they get along great with children, other dogs, and other pets. The Cavachon tends to retain a puppy-like demeanor throughout their life.

Pomeranians are generally active, friendly, and affectionate towards their family. They tend to have a “big dog in a small body” type of attitude and are often suspicious of strangers. This makes them alert watchdogs. However, if left unchecked, this can cause them to bark constantly and to try and intimidate other much larger dogs.
Poms love attention. They tend to do well with children. Due to their small size, they are generally a better fit for older children who are less likely to injure them with accidental falls or rough play.

Because the Cockapoo is a mixed dog breed, you can expect a temperament along the lines of its parent breeds, the Miniature Poodle and the Cocker Spaniel. This leads them to regularly have a very loving and also highly energetic temperament. They may also exhibit anxiety and nervousness though, making them prone to separation distress when left alone for long periods of time.

Both sides of your Cockapoo’s family tree are companion dogs, which makes them great indoor pups, especially for families. They also typically get along with other pets, but this may vary from dog to dog.

They are smart, social dogs that crave love and affection. They can also have a mischievous streak. Sammies tend to be friendly towards strangers, get along well with other dogs, and absolutely love children. They have a high prey drive though, so they may not do so well with other small pets. The Cavachon is a designer dog breed that is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon Frise. This cross often results in a small, cuddly, and friendly companion dog that also usually has a low-shedding coat. Although this dog breed is not recognized by the AKC, it is recognized by the Designer Dogs Kennel Club and other associations like the ACA, ACHC, DRA, and more.
