Birdie, one of our beautiful staff pets met her mini me in Jindy earlier this week.

Sweet Hazel visited our clinic for her puppy dental check.
This check ensures all her baby teeth are falling out making way for big adult ones. It is also a great opportunity to ask questions and book your pet in for desexing.

Sharing some beautiful feedback our team received. 🥰

Meet our best during summer... A Coag DX.
This small but life saving machine lets us know your pets blood clotting factors. Especially useful when it comes to snake bites. As brown and tiger venom is an anti-coagulant.

The weather is warming up and snakes are about. If you see your pet with a snake, please don't hesitate to take it straight to your local vet.

Signs of snake bite:
- Salivation
- Dilated pupils
- Rapid breathing
- Vomiting
- Hind limb weakness
- Lethargy or collapse

First aid for your pet:
-Keep your pet calm and confined, increased activity will increase venom circulation around the body.
- Ignore the bite wound. (the average fang length is about 3 mm you may not even see the bite)
- Bring your pet in to the vet hospital as soon as possible.

If you notice your pet acting strangely, or displaying any of these signs, it is crucial to seek veterinary attention immediately – snake bites in pets are an emergency, and require urgent treatment and care. If possible, take a photo of the snake or note its colour if you see it. Keep your pet calm and phone ahead to alert the clinic that you are on your way.

The sooner it is here, the sooner we can test and treat, potentially saving your pets life.

⚠ Tick Paralysis⚠
Please remember if you are leaving the area to use prevention BEFORE you leave!

If you are unsure what your pet needs or what treatment is best, please pop in or call one of our clinics. We will happily recommend the best products for your furry friend.

🔍It would be best if you also were doing daily body searches on your pet.
To perform a tick search, work your fingers through your dog or cat’s coat down to the skin and then massage your fingers over the entire coat. You should concentrate on the dog or cat’s front half as this is where ticks are more likely to attach. Make sure you check the edge of the lips, in skin folds, between the toes, and in the ears.

👀 If you find a paralysis tick on your pet you should use a tick remover to detach it from the skin. If a tick remover is not available. Attempt to remove the tick by its head, without squeezing the body.
Closely monitor your pet, even if it is well. Your pet can start showing signs of tick paralysis after removing the tick.
If you cannot safely remove the tick please call your local vet.

Tick Tips:
- Use prevention before going away.
- Regularly check your pet from head to toe for ticks.

⚠Signs to look for ⚠
- Wobbliness
- Lethargy
- Vomiting
- Salivation
- Difficulty Breathing

If you notice any of these signs please call your vet immediately.
