Halloween is coming up - here are some tips to keep your pets safe during the spooky season and avoid a health scare!

🎃 Halloween treats such as chocolate and lollies can be toxic to pets - make sure they are kept out of reach from pets! Your local vet or the Australian Poisons Hotline should be contacted immediately for advice if you are worried your pet has eaten something they shouldn't have.

🎃 Decorations (e.g. candles, strings) around the house may pose a hazard to pets if they are ingested or get tangled in them. Costumes may also make some pets feel uncomfortable so ensure they are ok to wear them and that they don't contain any pieces that may be chewed off and swallowed.

🎃 Pets can get stressed from loud noises & visitors - ensure they have a safe space to hide such as a comfortable crate or locked room.

🎃 Just in case your pet does manage to escape, ensure that they have their collars on with the contact details up to date on their tag. It is also a good time to ensure their microchip details are up to date online. Give us a call if you need help doing this.

💐 Happy 5 years at Molonglo Vet to our amazing vet nurse Krystal!!!

Whilst Krystal has been a vet nurse for many years working in various busy clinics & emergency centres, we are so lucky to have had her join our team at Molonglo Vet. Not only is she the resident clinic cat cuddler (and smuggler if she could take them all home!), she also works reception, triages emergency cases, monitors the tricky anaesthetics, trains our junior nurses & keeps us all caffeinated in the morning!

She truly is an invaluable part of the team & we are so grateful for her care of all the patients and clients of Molonglo Vet 🫶🏼

🫶🏼HAPPY INTERNATIONAL VET NURSE DAY!

Today we recognise and celebrate the incredible team of vet nurses that we have at Molonglo Vet. We are so lucky to have such a hardworking, dedicated, fun, caring team of nurses that give their all every day to caring for their patients.

Our nurses take bloods, place IV catheters, monitor anaesthetics, care for hospital patients, triage phone calls and emergencies, most importantly - give your pets cuddles & so much more! We could not run our days without them!

Ellie, Krystal, Jess, April, Amy, Alex, Cat, Charlotte - thankyou for all that you do for the pets & vets of Molonglo 🫶🏼
