🐶 BEHAVIOUR vs BREEDS 🐶
Banning dog breeds has become a heated topic across Queensland, so here's where we stand.

🧬 Dog breeds are not a predictor of individual behaviour
😡 Temperament tests have found no differences between restricted breeds and other breeds
📜 Breed specific legislation from around the world has had little to no effect on dog bite and attack numbers

So what is the answer?
🤔 Better understanding, training, behaviour and circumstances
🌲 Consider environment, soacialisation and upbringing

‼️ SERIOUS NEW DOG DISEASE IN QUEENSLAND 🛑
Tick-borne dog disease, Ehrlichiosis has recently infected a Queensland dog. With Biosecurity Queensland confirming that the Mt Isa dog had not travelled outside the state the dog is reported to have contracted this disease from a local tick population.

Ehrlichiosis can make dogs very sick and, without treatment, can result in death.

Dogs that are infected can expect to show a fever, look very tired, will refuse food and start to loose weight. Other tale tell sign of the disease include cloudy or red eyes, mucky eyes and nose, pale gums, swelling of limbs and bruising or bleeding under the skin.

Dog owners should have their dogs on regular tick prevention products and always check their dogs for ticks, paying close attention to their head, neck, ears, chest, toes and mouth.

If you think your dog has ehrlichiosis – speak to your vet, community Animal Management or Environmental Health Worker straight away.

For more information visit Biosecurity Queensland's website here: https://www.business.qld.gov.au/industries/farms-fishing-forestry/agriculture/livestock/animal-welfare/pests-diseases-disorders/canine-ehrlichiosis or call on 13 25 23.

I stole this 😂😂

Dear Customer,

Congratulations on acquiring your Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Please find the instructions for your particular model listed below:

Although your Stafford comes fully assembled, due to particular issues during production, we do occasionally have issues with components such as screws. They invariably are either loose or missing altogether.

Mode 1: This is the sleep mode, activated for the majority of the day as the Stafford ages. This is normal and you should not worry about it, just accept the peace and quiet while you can.

Mode 2: Anarchy. Although we have tried to ease the effect of anarchy mode, it’s not always possible. There are inherent issues with the timer settings of anarchy mode in regards to there being none. Should your Stafford suddenly go from comatose to running around the walls, we cannot stop this feature.

Sunlight: Do not allow your Stafford to stay in the sun too long. They can burn if left unattended but they also recharge. Too much of a charge and mode 2 can be activated without warning.

Energy consumption: This has been an ongoing issue as their energy consumption is too direct. We have tried to put baffles, non return valves and diversions in place but none seem to work adequately. Safe to say what goes in comes out, in both solids and gas. The gas, although noxious, can only inhibit breathing of the owner for up to ten minutes.

Naming: Your Stafford comes untitled as we feel owners should use names of their own. If you are unsure, we have listed below a few names our owners like to use:
Sh****ad
You’re kidding me
Is that yours?
Don’t you dare
Ok, you
As***le
Put that down
Why?
Get that out of your mouth

The zipper: We ask you not to try to open the Stafford's zipper on their belly as this will invalidate your one hour warranty. Rumours that they are merely toddlers in a dog suit is highly contested.

Software: Your Stafford is pre-installed with the highest software and hardware. This includes the loyalty chip, the love every one chip, fun chip and, of course, the highly popular mayhem chip. They are all running on the Whatthehell operating system 12.2. Although this has been in circulation for many years, we have found it simply cannot be improved upon.

Should you have any queries you can reach us on 118-what-did-I-do
Thank you.

We hope you have many years of enjoyment with your Stafford. Please be aware that by the time you have read this, your warranty will have run out.
Unfortunately, we do not renew warranties and we do not offer refunds or returns...ever. It’s your problem now.

‼️DON'T FEED YOUR DOG XMAS HAM🐶🚫🍖

A timely reminder to all pet owners - DO NOT give your pet dog or cat any of your Christmas ham.

"Christmas ham and ham bones are a huge no no,” the Animal Referral & Emergency Centre said.

“The fat and salt content of this delicious Christmas treat will reek havoc on the gastrointestinal system of our beloved fury family members.

"Christmas ham isn’t the only culprit that can cause our pets illness over the festive season.

"Often our pets will have increased access to chocolate, grapes, nuts and fruit cake, which are all capable of causing serious and sometimes life threatening illness."

This poor dog pictured is Gordie - in 2017 year he ate an ENTIRE 2.2KG Christmas ham. His owners brought him into the vet for help.

Summer cold treat for hot dogs 🥰

Summer cold treat for hot dogs 🥰

It’s getting warm
We all love the water to cool down.
Have you ever noticed how steamy your head gets when you are out in the sun with wet hair? It’s actually quite warm and not comfortable. Dogs coats are insulated, the hair not only keeps them cooler in summer as it protects them from the suns radiant heat, it also helps keep them warm in winter. By wetting down a dogs coat in the heat of the day you are actually heating your dog more, it’s like wearing a wet mink coat, it’s hot and steamy. To often I see people take their dog to water and immediately pour water over it’s back. I beg you STOP, don’t wet it’s coat. Instead let the dog stand in water, splash water up its legs and the underside where there is minimal coat. Let the dog lay on wet concrete, wet grass also becomes steamy and hot. Let the dog lay in a cool place out of direct sunlight to cool down . You shouldn’t be out in the heat with your dog if it’s over 30c. Dogs can only pant to release heat from their body , us humans are lucky, we sweat to cool down. Always take a water bottle for your dog when you go out. Remember, you are responsible for your dog, you know how hot it is and how hot it’s going to get. You know the circumstances of heat stroke, your dog doesn’t. So stay safe and play safe this summer and enjoy it with your dog, don’t make it suffer.

I am devastated to share the sad news that Miss Alaska went over the rainbow bridge yesterday evening. She had been bitten several times by an Eastern Brown snake, and the snake won 🥺
Such a beautiful soul, you will be missed, my crazy, loyal, loving girl 🌈 I so glad she had her chance to live on through her offspring 🥺🌈
