Rocky the rooster 🐔
This handsome fellow has broken his spur and was feeling rather sorry for himself. Our team was able to treat him yesterday whilst doing everything we can to make the experience low stress for Rocky (despite being a ladies man, he doesn’t get out much 😉)

Don’t forget to get yours pets medication orders in! 💊🩺
Yes, will be opened throughout the Christmas period, excluding public holidays. However, our suppliers are not shipping orders every day as usual so to ensure your pet doesn’t run out of meds over the silly season it’s best that you call and order more this week. Remember that we don’t have every drug in stock all the time and that more common medications can sell out quickly, so popping in on Christmas Eve might mean that you miss out.

Happy to be going home yesterday after a 10 day stint in hospital! Her case was a bit of a mystery to us but we were proud to see her headed back to her owners yesterday after over a week of supportive care from our team.

Our Bella 💛

Something we know all too well is the hard part of owning a pet, and that our time with them isn’t infinite.
Heartbreakingly, we’ve now learnt that Bella’s time with us is almost up.

All that’s left to do now is keep her comfy, shower her in love and appreciate her for everything she’s given to not just the Launders family & our clinic staff, but also our clients and patients.
She’s saved multiple lives donating blood for transfusions over the years, she’s made every staff members bad days a little better, she’s played with boisterous pups in reception and consoled patients who are feeling nervous or scared. She has been responsible for many happy greetings at our front door and she’s always known when someone needs her kindness. She’s been a fury shoulder to cry on.

We’ve always said that Bella has a special gift. She usually prances around the clinic cheery, but when a client sits in our waiting room feeling worrisome for a diagnosis or waiting for their animal to be prepped for euthanasia, Bella would always make her way to them quietly, lean against their leg and let them know she’s there for them. Now it’s our turn to be there for her.
We know she is special to a lot of our clients so we are putting this post out there to give you the chance to give Bella one last cuddle before it’s her time to go.
We can’t put into words how much she will be missed. We’ve been so lucky to have had her share her life with all of us. Thankyou Bella 🐾

Lola’s survival story 💝

Last Monday Lolas owners called us for some advice after they’d discovered that she had killed a brown snake in the backyard. Although not showing any symptoms, we recommended they bring her down to the clinic for us to monitor.
By the time her owners had put her in the car and drove her 4 blocks down the road from home to the clinic, she was in a critical state.
Our team acted quickly to begin treatment, manage her symptoms and administer anti venom but we were worried for Lola’s chances because of how severely the bite had already affected her.
We are happy to report that after a few days in hospital Lola was able to go home to her loving family, and today came for a visit to drop off delicious thankyou treats and show us all how well she has recovered 🥰

This goes as a timely reminder that if you think there is a chance your animal may have been bit by a snake, it’s always best to phone us and bring them in - even if they aren’t showing symptoms yet. Often waiting for symptoms is waiting too long and in Lola’s case would have had a devastating outcome. ❣️

We love being involved in community events, and love even more seeing people and their pets out enjoying what Cowra has on offer!
