Atlantis Cat Rescue is a non-profit animal welfare organisation dedicated to caring for, rehabilitating and rehoming cats and kittens in need of a 'furever home'. Established in 2020, Atlantis has grown from its humble beginnings in Craigieburn, rescuing strays from a hard life on suburban streets, to becoming a much-needed service that focuses on cats’ and kittens’ physical, emotional and social

wellbeing. Atlantis cats and kittens are nurtured in a loving home environment to ensure they are house-trained and ready for a lifetime of play, cuddles and companionship for the ‘purrfect’ person or family! We take in cats and kittens from council pounds or surrendered by owners who are no longer in a position to care for them anymore. We take the philosophy that we will never euthanise a cat or kitten who is capable of being rehomed, no matter how long it takes. Atlantis Cat Rescue also aims to advocate for improvements in the treatment of cats, educate the community about cat welfare, and find new and innovative ways in which we can better support the welfare of our feline friends into the future.

Kitten of the Day - Introducing Cher

Cher is the most independent of all of her siblings, while she loves to get regular pats, she likes to have it on her own terms and when she’s ready for attention. When Cher finally decides it’s time for pats, she will happily let you keep patting her for extensive periods of time and gets a zen look of peace on her face as she directs your hands to all the right places. However, in keeping with her independent streak is her dislike of being picked up, while she is a very peaceful kitten she will struggle for freedom but then go straight be in for pat once you put her down.

Outside of this she like to go off exploring and making her own fun with her sibling and friends and finding a secluded spot to sleep or watch the world go by. She will often find herself getting into rough and tumble play fights with her siblings and friends, but you soon learn that she is the instigator! She also has a way of looking straight into your soul with her soulful eyes.

Cher and her sibling are ready for adoption. If you are interested in adopting her or any of her siblings, we are currently accepting adoption expressions of interest, please check out our adoption process and consider completing an adoption expression of interest through our website (www.atlantiscatrescue.com). On the website, you can also see how you can help support the work we do to save innocent cat and kitten lives.

We will be posting individual bios for her sibling and other cats and kittens that are available for adoption at Atlantis Cat Rescue, over the next few weeks, so if you enjoyed finding out more about Cher and would like to get to know his siblings or other cats and kittens, please like and follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Kitten of the Day - Introducing Diana ADOPTED

Whether it’s being picked up for a hug or laying on your lap, chest or side, Diana is a deeply affectionate kitten who love to spend long stints snuggling up to you. She is a kitten who loves to welcome you when you enter the room and talks to indicate she is ready for some food or pats. She loves to tell you about her day and the have you scoop her up for more cuddles and affection.

Diana loves to play games with her toys or her siblings and other friends. She also loves to stair out the windows and doors watching the world and especially the birds. She likes having spaces to where she can hide out while still being vigilant when there is a loud noise such as a delivery van or construction work nearby.

Kitten of the Day - Introducing Edgar

Edgar is a kitten who is a little nervous in new situations at first but once he’s sure it’s safe it all in for fun. He loves to burn up energy chasing after his friends and love to see everything your doing, all while ensuring he knows the closest safe zone to catch his breath or just take a time out.

Edgar is an amazing show off and will put on a display of his acrobatic skills to get you attention when it’s time for pats. He loves to get scratches around the ears and will practically beg his people to give him a nice gentle belly rub by laying on his back, head dangling oof the edge of a surface, while he presents his belly for attention.

Edgar and his sibling are ready for adoption. If you are interested in adopting him or any of his siblings, we are currently accepting adoption expressions of interest, please check out our adoption process and consider completing an adoption expression of interest through our website (www.atlantiscatrescue.com). Kitten of the Day - Introducing Jean

Jean is a kitten who is driven by the id (or I want principal), he loves to explore everything he can, including new spaces, new toys, new friends or what his favourite people are eating. He is a kitten with human food FOMO (fear of missing out), if you are eating it, he wants to know what it tastes like and he especially loves milk, but make sure it’s lactose free (or more specifically cat/kitten milk) as cat’s and kittens are lactose intolerant.

Like his sibling, Jean loves spending lots of time playing and running around playing with his toys, climbing cat scratch poles and chasing or being chased by his siblings and other friends. He also likes to great you when you come home or enter a room his in. He loves pats, cuddles and laying on your side or lap for you undivided attention, but can get easily distracted by something else and will quickly run to over to explore.

Jean and his sibling are ready for adoption. If you are interested in adopting him or any of his siblings, we are currently accepting adoption expressions of interest, please check out our adoption process and consider completing an adoption expression of interest through our website (www.atlantiscatrescue.com). On the website, you can also see how you can help support the work we do to save innocent cat and kitten lives.
