Good morning to all the fruit tree home gardeners who took interest in my reopening and the others whom commented ans or messaged me.
I spent all day sorting potted trees out and cleaning one field nursery up,
I have not been able to spend much time inside the potted nursery but when I was w**ding and retagging yesterday,
I failed to realise just how many trees are in here
I was only able to get through 2 blocks of trees and there is such a range of all sorts of apple trees from basic every dsy varieties to all the 1800s varieties that came over on the tall ships like cortland, spartan, mollies delicious, Bess pool, and much more
But i found lots of apples like jonathans, cox orange pippin, wine sap, lady williams, and i havent got to the main blocks of apples yet.
I found nectearines, peaches, and today (sunday) i venture into plum world and have the next block to w**d and retag.
These are a mixture of high chill trees for the granite belt to tamworth plantings and i also have a range of low chill trees in plums and nectarines and some low chill peaches for areas like gatton yangan warwick allora toowoomba 300 hour hill areas not like here upwards of 800 hours chill requirements.
And i have not reached the peach and necterines blocks yet so i am a bit exited to see what I will find.
Not to mention i have 10 more varieries of nectarines and 10 varieries of plums down in my field nursery.
I am only 1 person so in the comming week or so I will try my best to get a stock list happening.
But in the meantime if you want some yummy old variety fruit trees just come on out to the nursery at Dalveen and have a sift through the sorted our tees and I am sure you will find something that catches your fancy.
Cheper prices than most the only more expensive trees are the 3 & 4 year old trees and they are atound the price of what you pay for just a normal tree in a largeer garden centre.
I dont have those huge overheads so i can keep my prices down more.
I am open today Sunday 5th and Monday 6th May 2024
Thank you
And maybe see you in the plapples
