I was able to attend Arntys yesterday for the first time in a while and it was great to see so many people in attendance. I’ve been away (for cancer treatment) for a couple of months and it was so nice to see the dogs recognise me and the excitement in the faces and bodies when they greeted me. Some before their owners even recognised me lol. While my treatment has gone really well I overdid it a bit yesterday and had an episode. A couple of the dogs responded to me and I could see they knew exactly what had happened. Arntys is a great group and is so encouraging to each other. Biggest thanks and love to our Mentors who made sure we could keep meeting even without me present. Some photos of our amazing group and our fantastic dogs trying to raise awareness and money for the work we do. Thank you to Palmerston Shopping Centre for their amazing support and willingness to support the training of our service dog teams. We will be at Palmerston for gift wrapping and some Christmas gifts from tomorrow.
Such amazing service dogs❤️

Introducing our newest candidate Mila. She’s a bit unusual as a grey hound. I will be starting her off with a few soft visit to arntys and training. See how she goes. Her first outing last night was a huge success with our beautiful Morse wanting to play with her and shadow giving her toys to squeeze. Somethings were lost in translation as she still has greyhound as her first language but we are looking forwards to seeing where she goes from here.
