Its been a few tough weeks at PAWS Darwin, with some noticable absences from our teams. We are happy to say Geoffrey Watson is settling into his new Job and were really happy for his journey,
I thought that i would give you a bit of an update on my health journey I am halfway through treatment, but have had some complications which meant i have had to miss a couple of Chemo treatments, but back on track with that this week , Im on week 4 of Radiation treatment. Everything seems to be going well, i am really thankful for all of those team members (volunatrily) who are pulling double shifts to help get us through this time and to look after dogs and classes etc.
I want to thank everyone for the positive well wishes it means a lot to have a community behind me on this journey, and even the doctors tell us the importance of that in the healing journey.
I wont lie though things are tough at PAWS at the moment and we are in desperate need of your help, what little bit you can give will help us to continue the work that we do. Christmas is a hard time of year lots of public holidays, lots of surrenders lots of people getting on planes and dumping dogs on the day without warning. There are also a lot of fundraising events that happen at this time of the year, for example Green Ant Craft Fair, Christmas wrapping station, none of which i will be able to help with this year but are important to our fundraising efforts, so if you are able to help with these activities in anyway please let us know.
Please know all dontations at this time are hugely appretiated and your time and best thoughts are also valued more than you know.
Love to all
Lisa
