Territory Day is approaching fast! What may be a fun occasion for us can be frightening for our pets
We have a few tips to help make cracker night this year a little easier for your pooch (cats too!)
- Secure your gates and fences; repair any holes that they might escape from!
- Try to keep them indoors as much as possible, if you cannot be with them, then a radio or TV may help mask the sound a little.
- Give them plenty of reassuring hugs, pats, treats, food puzzle so they can feel distracted and safe.

Some pets need a little extra help to stay calm. Sometimes the fear can lead to destructive and dangerous behaviour. If you think your pet needs medication to relax through the crackers please call us on 08 8927 3657 - we can organise an appointment to ensure your pets are safe and happy on cracker night!

What is Leptospirosis?
Infection with Leptospirosis can cause organ failure and death, as it spreads through the blood stream of infected animals.

Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease which can infect many mammalian species, including dogs and humans. The bacteria is carried by rodents, bats and marsupials and is excreted in their urine. The bacteria can survive in water sources, becoming a threat during wet seasons. Disease can be contracted through direct contact with the host or through exposure to water, food, soil or bedding contaminated with urine.

Signs of mild infection include lethargy, fever, jaundice, inappetence and increased thirst.
