My most favourite, genuine and ethical rehoming group. Please consider fostering a beautiful greyhound. Although be warned you’ll probably fall in love and give them your couch forever!

We are in need of foster carers for our gorgeous greyhounds! If you or someone you know have been thinking about fostering a dog now’s the time to give it a go!

If you’re thinking of adopting a pup but you’re not quite sure yet, fostering is a great way to try out having a dog in your life. Each foster parent plays a vital role in helping our greyhounds adjust to life outside the racing kennel.

📣 NT Animal Welfare Legislation 📣
Public Consultation - Have Your Say on the NT Animal Protection Act 2018. Submissions close 20th September

If we don't speak up laws can't change.

We are the voice for animals and their welfare!

Here's what I'll be submitting feedback on:

- harsher maximum penalties for offences
- what constitutes abandonment
- petitioning that prong collar sale, possession and use be illegal
- education and training

If we sit back and wait for change it won't happen. We have to be the nagging voice for change and do what's right to improve animal welfare in the NT.

Share far and wide!

KENNEL COUGH!

It's doing the rounds at the moment and there is lots of misunderstanding & fear mongering of pet parents about it. So here's the low down.

Kennel Cough is a highly contagious respiratory illness. This can be viral or bacterial. Vaccination exists for strains of Kennel cough, namely parainfluenza and bordetella.

HOWEVER... there are many strains and most dogs who are vaccinated against kennel cough are still highly likely to contract the virus in its many other strains. Think the flu and new strains each year, we as humans experience.

Most veterinary treatment is rest and fluid. Some may prescribe antibiotics, but many don't.

Pneumonia is a complication and can be fatal. However, most dogs that develop this have co-mobordities such as heart or kidney problems, immune-compromised, elderly or over weight. Yes these things matter, they impact how well a dog can manage illnesses and recover.

HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR BOTH TREATMENT AND PREVENTION

1. REST
2. Bone Broth
3. Manuka Honey
4. Natural Vet Nurse Kennel Cough Blend
5. Immune Support Formula
6. If you dog is taking antibiotics SB Capsules

Meet Coco. She’s just started working with me for her sub-luxating patella. Her owners have opted for non surgical management which will involve a suite of supportive therapies. These include myotherapy, cold laser, hydrotherapy and therapeutic exercises. We’re also using some nutraceuticals from . Her goals are to improve strength in her hind legs, relieve tightness and pain in compensatory areas and limit worsening of the condition.

Let’s talk allergies and skin. This is Trevor he’s mine so dog owners with allergies I get you😘!

We move house and this meant new plants and pollens he’d never been exposed to. He became a shell of himself. Top photos are my boy in hell from seasonal allergies. He’s miserable, he’s bleeding and that’s just his face.

But here’s what I knew I could do for him.
TAKE CONTROL AND HEAL HIM NATURALLY 🪴🌿

And here’s what I did:

1. HTMA (fur test) this helped me fine tune what herbs and supplements to chose
2. Chinese herbs to help the itching
3. Natural antihistamine blend compounded into tablet form to help histamine response
4. Topical probiotic spray for soothing of skin and protective barrier
5. Blended herbs to support prostate( it becomes enlarged when allergies flare) as it’s working hard to help his body manage his allergies.
6. Knowing when allergy season starts he now starts this protocol 2 months in advance and guess what.

No allergy flare ups this year, just a happy healthy dog!

Bottom photos: naturally happy healthy 🐶

I’m here to help you both in person or online so reach out today.

Wound Healing Meets Rehab!

Meet Koopa🐾

Koopa sustained a significant laceration to his hind leg, penetrating deep nearly exposing bone, before his new owners came to take over his care (image too graphic to show). His wound began healing but he was struggling with mobility and the wound kept re-opening. His vets recommended cutting the wound open to try and relieve the pressure. Here’s where I came to be involved.

When I met Koopa he was wanting to lick and chew his wound and was a truggling to sit squarely as there was so much tension in the wound. This is painful and a likely cause of the desire to gnaw at the wound.

🐾 I showed the owner how to perform scar tissue mobilisation techniques and release tight fascia and muscles that were in evolved in compensation.
🐾 We changed from antibacterial creams to derm care probiotic spray. # #
🐾 I performed cold laser twice weekly
🐾 I tweaked his diet incorporating more fresh foods

Just under 3 weeks later we have a healed wound, a dog able to sit and we’ve prevented another surgery.

Meet Pablo. He was very keen to hear about how we can help improve his ye**ty skin and his gut health. He’s starting on some new food and if needed he’ll add in some of our digestive care products. We don’t supplement for the sake of it. Food is key and we build from there.

Oral Papillomas Be Gone! Miss Prim was referred to me after her vet surgically removed oral papillomas only to have them return within a few weeks post surgery and in more areas of her mouth.

I put her on some herbs to support her immune system which was in need of some love and and made an oral mineral solution to apply into the mouth onto the papillomas and of course some food tweaks.

Fast forward 3 weeks ➡️and she’s papillomas free. Pet Health Done Naturally!

Meet Jock and Molly. These 2 Westie’s have been my special client for some time helping with their cruciate rupture management. Recently Miss Molly was diagnosed with Westin Lung Disease and was having a rough time of breathing, pain and life in general was miserable for this normally peppy pooch. She was on Pred but it was having nasty side effects her breathing was laboured and her owners weren’t sleeping. We started a course of cold laser to help with the inflammation, some natural herbs for inflammation and lung support and we called in our vet colleague to discuss if an inhaler could help alongside the natural treatment plan and she agreed it would be a great addition. Fast forward and… this girl is back to better breathing, eating and her energy is back. We love a combined and team approach to getting the best care for our clients.

Meet Bruce! Bruce is a puppy who’s been an itchy boy for the past few months. In fact it started after a trip to the vet for a routine injection that turned into a reaction, a lump on his shoulder a rash and a persistent itch. Bruce is now onto some natural support to help him detox, improve his overall health through food and give him gut health an extra boost. I think he approves of the plan and the belly rubs during my visit.
