Stay Cool 🐶

Did you know dogs can’t sweat like we do? 🥵

Instead, they rely on panting to stay cool, and in Darwin’s hot, humid build-up season, they need extra help to avoid overheating. Overheating can happen fast, so planning for your dog’s comfort and safety is essential.

One lesser-known trick?

🐕 Dogs love cooling down their paws in water! Their paws have special blood vessels that help release heat, so dipping them in water helps cool them down quickly. At home, try setting up a shallow tray of water or shell pool where they can stand and cool off, or bring a water bowl on outings so they can dip in if needed.

👉Please remember: never leave your dog in the car without the aircon running. At home, setting up a fan at your dog’s level provides a comforting breeze. For noise-sensitive dogs, a fan can also be soothing while it cools.
