** URGENT TRANSPORT NEEDED **

Maggie escaped slaughter 10 years ago, and now she is in danger again.

She is in critical care at the Gatton University Hospital after dislocating her right hip. She needs urgent surgery, which is scheduled for Friday morning.

But surgery can’t proceed without transfusionable blood for her operation, or the danger is too great.

We are looking for somebody who can transport the blood to Gatton, to arrive before 2pm Wednesday. The blood will be available for transport in Dayboro at 12pm, and we can take it anywhere in Brisbane Northside to be transported on to Gatton.

If you can help to transport this life saving blood to Maggie in Gatton, we would be so grateful!

Please messsge us if you can help.

** CONTENT WARNING - SCENES OF EXTREME NEGLECT **

When we speak to government departments we are always told that there is no need for an Independent Office of Animal Welfare. We're told that the current system of animal protection works effectively and government has full confidence in their welfare systems.

Please speak to your local federal MP today. Australia does not provide effective protections for commercial food animals.

If only pigs could vote. They can't so our voices for them must be loud.

Thank you Farm Transparency project for exposing commercial agriculture for what it truly is.

Thank you to our amazing community who helped us raise $31.560.28 in our EOFY rescue appeal.

These donations are already hard at work after Gloria, a hen who has lost 80% of her top beak under the de-beaking blade, has found sanctuary, home, care and most importantly - life.

We are so very grateful for the amazing support we receive and are so honored to go forward in your name to rescue and advocate.

Thank you so much for your incredible support!

Just arrived at Farm Animal Rescue: Meet Gloria. 💔

Gloria has been so severely de-beaked that almost her entire top beak is missing.

In the egg industry, it’s standard practice to cut off the tips of chicks’ beaks—without pain relief—to prevent injuries caused by the stress of extreme confinement in battery cages and cage-free barns. But for Gloria, the hot blade cut far too deep, leaving her with raw, exposed nerves and a lifetime of pain.

Somehow, this brave little soul survived 12 weeks on her own. But she won’t be alone ever again. From this moment on, she’s safe. She’s loved. And she will know only kindness.

For Gloria, and the millions like her, please say no to eggs.

📉 Looking at the numbers, I’ll be honest—I'm so very grateful and I’m also so very nervous!

We’re just 5 days away from June 30, and still $7,829 short of our $30,000 rescue appeal goal despite the wonderful generosity of our community.

The support we’ve received so far has been incredible. It’s what’s kept us going. It’s what gives me hope.

Because this isn’t about “nice to haves.” It’s about food, vet care, and the basic ability to say yes when an animal needs us.

🐄 Take Fiona.
We rescued her from a dairy farm where she was kept in a crate so filthy she lived in her own waste. Acid burns covered almost half her body. She was in pain, alone, and forgotten.

But because people like you stepped up, Fiona got a second chance. She healed. She found peace. And she became a comfort to the calves who came after her—just like she once was.

That’s what rescue makes possible.
And right now, it’s hanging in the balance.

We’re so close—but we’re not there yet. If you’ve been thinking about donating, please—let this be the moment.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in this work. Working together we know we can achieve amazing thngs. Let’s finish this together.

With gratitude,
Brad King

How Do We Get Our Animals?

Most animals born into the food system never make it out.
They’re never named. Never touched by kindness. Never seen as someone.
But sometimes, a moment opens up—and two lives are changed forever.

Noah and Winston were just five days old when they were sent to the saleyard.
They were meant to disappear, like so many others.
But that week, something unexpected happened—and they were given a chance.

This is their story.
And it’s a reminder of what’s possible when we stop seeing animals as commodities,
and start seeing them for who they are.

🎥 Watch below.

After last week's cold snap the pasture has stopped growing, so we've begun our Winter feed program until the warmth returns to the soil at the end of the year. Tropical grasses are very sensitive to the weather and stop growing below 16 degrees!

You can help us through the winter by buying a meal a week. Details in the comments.
