Another lawn taken on not too out of control but was able to give it a decent facelift.
This little fellow invited its self to a family day on the veranda but due to the young ones around it was kindly asked to leave so with a quick hop skip and a jump to the bush across the road it was on its way to find somewhere else to be. This python thought it had it all figured out had been frequently spotted stationed right next to a bird feeder to take advantage of any opportunity from any unsuspecting hungry birds and when spotted was retreating to a very clever hiding spot in a hollowed out stag horn tree fern. Well eventually its hiding spot was discovered by the client and I was promptly called to move it on to the bush near by. Really starting to notice the difference in growth from a month ago the heat an rain are really starting to get the growing season to come on quickly.
Got a call out for a snake that was coiled up under a fridge once I got there I could see it had recently had a feed I asked the client if they have any small animals that have gone missing and they said they didn’t but there has been a ringtail possum that was frequenting the area so I’m guessing they won’t be seeing that little chap again unfortunately. Once in the bag the snake was moved down the road to the bush to find somewhere else to hole up to digest its meal.

Caught and detained for attempted guinea pig theft then released due to lack of evidence. This medium sized lace monitor decided that some juvenile guinea pigs would make for an easy meal it unfortunately got a bit more than it bargained for when I had to come and remove it from the immediate area and just in time a few minutes more and it would have dug under the cage and had a buffet. Once released it did the usual goanna reaction found something to clime I’m just lad it was the tree and not me this time! 5 snakes in the bag though I generally won’t put more than one snake in the bag at a time I wasn’t given much of a choice in this situation. Got a call out from a customer saying they had a brown snake living in a retaining wall apon arrival I saw the snake in question and informed them it was actually a whip snake and only mildly venomous not a real threat to them customer still wanted it removed as I got closer to the retaining wall I saw two More then realised there was a whole lot more than expected. Though snakes are not social or territorial they can be found in larger than usual numbers when food is plentiful in one area and this was definitely the case with an abundance of garden skinks as well . Caught the first one spotted then went to work getting the other two then had a further inspection of the wall and spotted another five more two of which were caught two escaped into another yard where I could not go and one other that was well an truly holed up in the wall. The customer was more than happy with the outcome of five being caught and they were moved on a distance away in the hopes they can’t return. Another successful relocation of a local python this wonderful specimen had taken up residence in an elderly couple’s vegetable garden no doubt attracted by all the birds that they said like to frequent their garden. It was moved a little ways off to the bush near by where it will be able to make a new home and hopefully stay out of peoples way.
One of my more recent larger jobs undertaken unfortunately the time laps doesn’t show the little blue tongues I found and moved out of harms way or the large three clawed worm skink that made an appearance and got to go for a ride in my pocket until that part of the lawn was finished but the end result was fairly good for how it all started.
