Spy has found a new home. And been renamed Cinderella and is wearing all pink for his new little 3yo girl who is already smothering him in affection and promised to give him a bath ….. inside with her 😁. It’s so hard sending them off, but I know I look forward to hearing or seeing all his adventures in his new home. 29 enquiries, 6 visits booked - but for various reasons only 1 managed to see him. 😊.

Brighthope Spy. Still being broken in for independent riding. Has done fun day, obstacle course day. Spy is used to tractors, motorbikes, Ambulances, helicopters, traffic, crazy kids with kites, bikes, umbrellas etc. At Camp Clayton for an 80 girl camp😁 he lined up to have his hair primped and pampered😁. And then was more cautious of the waves at the beach.

Love my Shetlands! When we bought this place we fenced this strip to keep the neighbours idiot bulls away from our cows (and bull). The simple temporary fence HAD to be there as it was the only place to put a straight line because of the gorse. - that’s how far from the boundary fence it had crept. Horrible nasty stuff which gives awesome shelter in winter, but takes over the land if you let it. BUT gorse also pulls nutrients from deep in the soil through their strong and tenacious root system. I’m not sure if it’s a “we’re from the same part of the world and I know your value” thing OR just the tenacious Shetland appetite😁 but they love to burrow in and strip the bark- eventually killing the gorse. And no, they don’t do this to the trees in their paddocks. Since the gorse is clearing there are seedling trees sprouting which we toss a few branches around to help them but be trampled…. But we all know that’s not going to stop a Shetland from getting in there if they smell grass😁. And no that’s not “all they have to eat” The ponies have just come through this paddock again on their cell rotation. Although like the rest of TAS feed is going to be tight this year! So message me if your keen to look at a pony …. or two😁.

Brighthope Gizmo...... the wild little beastie of a stallion. When people tell me they have to lasso their ponies to catch them, makes me think the ponies are smart to stay away from such people! Time spent spending time with horses is never wasted time.

Cleaning up Ally and Arrow for the animal nursery at the Deloraine Easter festival tomorrow. Can’t do much with the two-tone foal fluff😁. But if anyone wants a cuddle with these two little cuties come and see me tomorrow - or my kids actually - I’ll be pumping out enough free fairy floss to send all the kids hyper😁

Big thanks to Jen and Jeremy and their mighty crew of hoof trimmers! The Shetlands got caught, handled and trimmed by an assortment of people (that aren’t just the usual me) without any dramas!

B. Arrow. 6 weeks old. And LOOOVES a scratch! And yes it’s all cute for him to sit down on us when he’s this little! Definitely not something I’ll encourage as he gets older. BUT check out the video at the end! what an opportunity to touch him ALL over! This little guy is going to be a ripper of a kids pony. If Kiraley can bring herself to sell him later 😂😭. .

Tiny foal spam! This little guy is the smallest we’ve ever bred😁. Ally is a mini of unknown breeding, although she’s won Champions in unregistered classes against big horses. She’s black? With white flecks through the coat. Dad is Brighthope Gizmo, palomino.

Yearling chestnut fillies by CarregWen Hunza. Shayley stopped on her way from the school bus to hold Brighthope Stormfly (Brighthope Ima Star) for a hoof trim. And Brighthope Revelly (Brighthope Raffia) just wanted a stickybeak and a scratch😁.
