Leaving your chickens outside after dark can be dangerous! Predators are often most active around dusk. The fading light provides them with cover while still allowing them to see well enough to hunt, making it a particularly risky time for your flock to be outdoors.

Chickens, on the other hand, have very poor night vision, which puts them at a serious disadvantage against nocturnal predators.

To keep your flock safe, it’s best to get them into their coop and secure the door before dusk. This simple step can help prevent predators from taking advantage of the low light to launch a sneaky attack. 🐓
