Lungeing sessions should not last longer than 20 minutes. Here’s why:

• Horses did not evolve to move in circles.
• Lungeing is hard work on the horse’s joints, tendons and muscles.
• Overwork on the lunge (or any situation) can cause pain, injury, discomfort and fatigue.

According to Australian researchers, ‘In an 18-m diameter round-pen, approximately 20 circuits equal 1 km. In just 20 minutes of lunging or round-pen work, a horse may cover around 5 km in distance which, as we postulate, poses musculoskeletal risks due to the constant circular track. Therefore, round-pen/lunging sessions exceeding 20 minutes should be avoided’ (https://tinyurl.com/CuttingTheChase).

This kind lovely 6yo 15.3hh Clydie Cross Mare is looking for her new home. I just love her to bits, I find she tries so hard for me.BUT
I'm not going to sugar coat this ad,
This mare will ask her rider will you ride me forward to the contact?
Will you correct me with you hand first or your leg first?
Will you ask me to stay off the leg?
Will you balance me and half hault me when I need it?
Will you ride the corners or let me fall in?
If you can't answer these questions clearly and confidently she will have a pigroot.
I have competed this mare at several outings at prelim level dressage, all of which she was beautifully behaved & tried her heart out, she is easy to warm up, just hop on and ride no lunging required, she will float on a straight load, angle float, a truck, she will tie up all day long if you asked her too.
I find this mare so easy and so reliable, we click. But unfortunately she is not mine and I'm selling on behalf of a client.
I find Lily easy, loving, kind, she is totally food orientated and a sweetheart. But she is sensitive and not for a beginner rider. In saying that she has had children ride her and not so confident adults but she will pull cranky faces, almost to say "Hey Mum this rider is scared or doing it wrong, can you tell them to stop"! At which point I step in to be her voice.
Lily loves jumping, loves loves loves to jump, she will easily pop over 60cm and small logs, she has done a few cross country clinics and lots of trail riding. She is competing Prelim dressage and training novice at home.

For Sale $900 ono. Keiffer Wein 16 inch dressage saddle. New flocking, New girth points. Used only a.couple of times since new flocking and girth points. My baby has outgrown it. It has slight fading in colour in the seat, but can't be seen when ridden in.
Medium wide gullet. Kept indoors always.
