Mutt Movers are a group of animal lovers based on the Sunshine Coast, Qld who move unwanted dogs and puppies primarily from Moree, NSW to Queensland to find their forever homes; with amazing support from Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge.

MUTT MOVERS

Well…….. the MUTT MOVERS are ready and waiting to do our job but sadly COVID and the RENTAL CRISIS has halted our work.
Our last trip was March last year!!!!

To begin with we thought waning trip requests for pickups from Council pounds and other overcrowded shelters was a good thing ….but sadly we realised that during COVID people sought out a doggy friend…..however as COVID slowed down and people returned to work ….and as other pressures with life stepped in…. dogs were being surrendered in great numbers to SUNSHINE COAST ANIMAL RESCUE.
Being on overload they haven’t been able to take other dogs at risk…… the Mutts we move!!
A very sad situation indeed.

The RENTAL CRISIS has added to this issue, also coupled with cost of living pressures generally. This alone has been a massive contributor to the whole sad issue.

So our donated DOG TRAILER sits idle and our donated spill proof dog bowls are dry….
All we can hope for is that SCARS can continue its outstanding work in rehoming as many animals as possible to enable us to continue our work in saving other animals from sad and dire situations.

MUTT MOVERS has so many wonderful followers and supporters and you can certainly help with this issue of the many dogs in need.

Adopt when you can please!
Also SCARS and our other main pickup point, RED COLLAR RESCUE at Farnsfield near Childers, can always use donated food items.

MUTT MOVERS are keen and able to transport donated food items like dry food, sardines for puppies and also DRONTAL for worming to Childers, as these are the greatly needed items.

Well the MUTT MOVERS have picked up and delivered again......
Another pickup from RED COLLAR RESCUE at Biggenden.
Mostly older hounds this time and all are now available for adoption from SCARS at SIPPY CREEK.
Karen came on this trip!!! THANKS KAREN!!
Another passionate hound lover.

Some small issues with our MUTT MOVER trailer before we headed off but luckily James’ Uncle came to the rescue and sorted that for us!!!

The hounds travelled well and so did we!!
Our new spill proof bowls were great.... no wet blankets!!!

So check out these guys.... all lovely and YES .... I nearly bought big black WAGS home for Harley Quinn to play with but came to my senses!! I only need one dog that can pull me over... not two!

Well...... the MUTT MOVERS are at it again!!!
A trip to Biggenden RED COLLAR RESCUE to pick up four hounds this time!!!!
All older dogs ... no pups.
Two girl pooches who have had pups and two boy hounds.
SOPHIE the Bull Arab about three years old....
SUMMER a mixed breed about 18 months old....
and MAX another mixed breed looking a lot like a Beagle with the most lovely soft nature. MAX is about a year old....
And finally HARLEY another sable coloured cross breed who is about 2years old.
We delivered the DOG SHAMPOO and blankets kindly donated by WUNDERDOGS.
The MUTT MOVER trailer has been re registered. Doesn’t seem like a year since it was kindly donated to us.!!!!!
Hope you have all survived the big wet!!

Well... the MUTT MOVERS are ready to go when needed!!
Just had a wonderful donation of DOG WASH from WUNDERDOGS at NOOSA.
Thanks again Kat for your kind donation.

We will pass these on to the puppy pick up spots when we get the call.
Things have been quiet and we see this as a good thing!!

Dogs seem to be an increasingly sought after and cared for part of human lives ....which is so wonderful. Each dog is a true character and offers so much in return.
As I do this message, my own hound Harley Quinn lies beside me. He turned three just before Christmas!
What a joy...... a big joy in more ways than one!!! He is 62 kilos now.... a far cry from the small pup I bought home on the back seat of my car!!!
He was one of the original MOREE MUTTS!

So I wish all our followers and supporters a really great New Year.
We will keep you all informed about our travels.

MMM 12 DECEMBER 2021

Well it’s been quiet for the MUTT MOVERS and we hope this is good news that stray and abandoned dog numbers are low at present!!!!

We will travel NORTH and SOUTH as needed.
With borders opening we expect more southern trips soon.

A big shout out to WUNDERDOGS in Noosa for their donation of two travel crates and four easy wash travel blankets!! Thanks Kat!!!
Much appreciated. Hope we can put these to good use soon.

Well the MUTT MOVERS are at it again.... this post is a little late!!! Been busy on the home front!!!
We travelled to Childers this time to pick up PIDDLES, PUDDLES and little RUBY.

As usual Linne wanted to take them ALL home....

Our new water bowls worked so well!!!
No spills or wet blankets!!
Thanks so much to those who donated to help us purchase them. Much appreciated. WOOF WOOF!!

As Christmas approaches we know the New Year will mean more trips to collect the post Christmas unwanted dogs. Sad..... but a typical ongoing reality.

Please support SCARS if you can. Christmas can be a tough time for surrenders due to our rental crisis.

Well..... we are off to RED COLLAR RESCUE near Childers on Tuesday to bring back four little pups.....
Hope we all travel well!!

On our last trip we bought SPOTTY back!
Remember SPOTTY????
The hound I very nearly took home to HARLEY QUINN!!!!!!!
Such a great dog.... it made me so sad that this lovely dog was homeless.
Well SPOTTY needs cruciate ligament surgery before finding a forever home.

So SCARS is holding a CHRISTMAS RAFFLE to raise the funds for the operation.

Well the MUTT MOVERS are at it again!!!!.
Another trip to RED COLLAR RESCUE near BIGGENDEN.

Nine wonderful hounds relocated on this trip!!
We took two from SCARS to BIGGENDEN and returned with seven!
The two we took North will find a better home up North. One in particular was a real working dog who would be better living in a farm situation.
A real little worker in the making!!!

The seven we bought home were mostly fully grown hounds.
One in particular stole my heart!!!
A girl called SPOTTY....... a shaggy Wolfhound girl with such a sweet nature. I can never understand why someone would give up on such a lovely girl....... just so thin and yet so loving.

RED COLLAR RESCUE do such great work out there. They collect from the North Burnett and the Bundaberg regional area.
They saved over 500 dogs last year. Sharyn the main carer is working under such difficult conditions surrounded by so many dogs.

So we are glad to have taken our seven to lighten her load and to give these dogs a chance for a better life.

So if you are looking for a good mate.... please check these guys out and meet them at SCARS!!!!!

This trip we have an ASK!!
We need to buy some spill proof bowls.

They are great and help us to arrive with dry crates. Especially in winter.... a wet dog is a sad dog!!!!

Well finally the MUTT MOVERS are at it again!!!!. Due to BORDER CLOSURES we have been unable to do our pickups from NSW..... but we have recently done a pickup from RED COLLAR RESCUE near BIGGENDEN.

Six wonderful hounds came back with us to the SUNSHINE COAST ANIMAL shelter.
Linne and I set off with the trailer and two crates in the car!!!!
No pups this time.... just teenage dogs and a couple of older ones.

RED COLLAR RESCUE do such great work out there. They collect from the North Burnett and the Bundaberg regional area.

Some have known real abuse...... particularly the Staffy......but ALL seem so affectionate and grateful. Sharyn’s care has obviously helped them along.

MUTT MOVERS MAY 2021
Well the MUTT MOVERS are at it again!!!
We did a pick up on Wednesday.....12 beautiful hounds ....... mostly puppies and young dogs.
A couple of older ones.....
All quite subdued and accepting of their lot in life so far...... let’s hope it improves for them all.
Some had obviously had a scary and sad time to date...... very timid indeed.

Rachel joined me this time. Thanks Rachel... a great travel buddy who always brings a great lunch!!!
Our DOG TRAILER travelled so well. We drove via ESK and came home through BRISBANE.

ESK is faster with no ROAD TOLLS..... but BRISBANE is a straighter road... so no road sick chundering pups!!!

All have been safely delivered to SUNSHINE COAST ANIMAL RESCUE for adoption.

Donations to our PETROL account are always appreciated.

MUTT MOVERS MARCH 11 2021
Well, the MUTT MOVERS have delivered again!!!!!
The trip was really great till we encountered torrential rain just before Brisbane and had to park roadside till it passed.....
Certainly didn’t want anyone running into the back of our new trailer loaded with our wonderful hounds!!
Another trip with RSPCA Noosa joining us.
A total of 16 dogs returned to our area for adoption...... lots of pups this time.
Our new trailer travelled so well. We now go through ESK on the way down to lessen our TOLL fees and we return through Brisbane which is a straighter and less hilly trip .....as pups get car sick easily.
THANKYOU to those that donated to help us with our fuel costs. Very much appreciated indeed.
Heidi from the CREATIVE FROG has offered to put a website together for us. It will be a great way for everyone to follow us and keep in touch. Thanks to Heidi who is always so generous with her time for others.

So here are some of our load of wriggly pups.....Linne had lots of happy smooches from our little travellers on arrival at SUNSHINE COAST ANIMAL RESCUE.
