Harvest thanks
To the awesome team of volunteers who put an astounding amount of time, effort and love into making our Harvest Festival event happen. What an amazing weekend we have all achieved!!
My mind has boggled at the huge number of jobs you all attended to in the preparation, delivery and pack up. Shovelling wood chip, baking treats, sorting rubbish, putting up signs, painting, washing horses, manning activities, cooking/serving food, rehearsing/performing music, packing hampers, sorting problems, cleaning everything, planting trees, delivering refreshments to those stuck with crowds, directing traffic, tending the fire pit… the list is far longer…
So many people contributed to so many aspects of the weekend.
And all this set the stage for the many moments of joy and interaction experienced by our almost 1000 visitors! Thank u for loving them, for giving them a space of beauty to be refreshed in and reconnect in, to be courageous and creative in , to contribute to, to be inspired by and to find hope in. I truly believe we helped create heaven on earth last weekend. And it was stunning!! My words can’t express my gratitude to you all. Thank you!!

Meet Toby...

I love to play with the hose when I am being washed.

I was a star in the show ring and can do some very fancy things when I have an experienced rider on board. I have done lots of dressage and a bit of eventing. Sadly I have an old shoulder injury. I was donated to The Salvation Army because my previous owners were concerned that someone else would take advantage of my brilliant education (I really can make anyone look like a star!) and make me work too much. But here I am only ridden lightly and I get to be a star (along with all my other helpful horse friends) whenever I hang out with the kids.

Meet Remmie...

I love to gallop when I am free in the paddock.

Although I am quite small for a thoroughbred, I used to be a racehorse. I have been working very hard with my training to learn lots of other stuff, not just what they taught me at the racetrack. I have a bad habit from my racing days called ‘wind sucking’, which means that I often damage the fences by chewing on them and sucking in air. Many other places would not be able to accommodate my (at times destructive) chewing, but I am kept active to try keep my mind off my bad habit. Also, we move paddocks regularly so we have better grass to eat, and this gives me more things to be interested in.
