❀️ I love love love updates like this after sessions.

"Just did another session with the little guy at the park
He was sensational , 3 sets of dogs, and just sat and checked in with me

Even led back to the car like a little champ "

Melo the frenchie was really reactive when we started our sessions, so much so, walking him was a chore & down right embarrassing for his owner.

Fast forward to now, many, many hours of practice and building that relationship between Melo & his owner.

They're a brilliant team who have worked so hard. I'm beyond proud of them and so happy to see him so relaxed out and about.

Meet Sarge!

This boy has some very proactive owners, who have booked in some sessions to work on general obedience BEFORE any issues arise!

It's lovely to be working with a blank slate and no real issues other than simple puppy stuff.

Sarge is a 7mo xl bully and will grow to be a big strong boy.

We have been working on loose leash walking, recall and jumping!

He's a little rockstar and picks things up so quickly.

Looking forward to his next session and seeing how much he's improved

Meet Daisy 🌻

This young lady has been dealt an awful hand, until now that is, she has landed in the best home a dog could ask for.

Today, I went out to help her owners build Daisy's confidence She was used as a breeding bitch at a puppy farm, at 3 years old she's been lucky to escape the place, but not without some issues.

Due to lack of exposure to many things, this girl is petrified to do even the most normal things, like walk through a small doorway!

Today, we showed her that these things aren't scary and that they're just a normal part of life. She took to it like a pro. Once she realised good things happen with these events, she would happily give it a go.

This girl is truly a ray of sunshine, and I'm honoured to be able to help her live a life that is full without fear of the unknown.

Meet Nala & Fifi

I've been having so much fun training these guys!

Nala is a cheeky 5 month old Border Collie x Kelpie and she is a busy busy girl.

Unfortunately, she came from a less than ideal situation where she had to fight for food, which created a pup that resource guarded all things important to her.

Of course, this isn't ideal when other smaller animals are around, Fifi (chihuahua) didn't understand what was going on and there was real risk of her being hurt.

Nala is now happy to share her things, all through training and helping her see that she wasn't going to miss out.

Sometimes, training is about changing a dog's mindset. It's very rarely about correcting what they're doing wrong, rather rewarding what they're doing right, especially in the early days of training and building that relationship.

Meet Smokey

A 6 month old Husky x who can be quite willful when it comes to mouthing, biting, and nipping.

This happens mostly when he's overtired, over stimulated & over excited, which makes it hard to manage at times.

πŸ• When we first caught up with Smokey's owners, there was no crate set up for him. This was one of my suggestions on how to manage an overtired pup! You see, pups and toddlers aren't really that different when it comes to this. When they're overtired, they don't self regulate and are generally just little demonsπŸ‘Ώ

βœ…οΈ This is where having a space where your pup or dog can get away from everything and chill or sleep is ideal. Since setting up his crate and starting his crate training journey when he's tired, he's been taking himself off for a nap instead of being a menace! This has taken so much pressure off the owners and life with Smokey is much nicer!

Can't wait to see these guys again in a few weeks to keep building on his basics.

β™₯️ Nixon

This beautiful snooty boy had a session with me today to make him more adoptable!

I'll be honest, there's not much work that needs to be done with him, just refining his walking, a bit of recall and some general manners.

Typical of the greyhound, he loves to chill and appreciates a couple of short walks throughout the day.

He aced his walking training today!

If you're interested in adopting this gorgeous boy head over to https://www.greyhoundsafetynet.org/

If you know someone looking for a greyt dog, share this post and get him some love.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY πŸŽ‚

Sammy & Buca.

12 YEARS YOUNG

Theses two are the catalyst behind me becoming a trainer, not because they're bad dogs, they're actually the best, most chilled dogs anyone could ask for, but because they started my volunteer rescue career which blossomed into me wanting to take that next step.

They are my heart & soul and are πŸ’― once in a lifetime dogs.

😍 Meet Mia & Hamish, 2 pomeranians who get so stupid excited about walks it usually ends in a fight before leaving the house.

πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ This is one of those sessions where I wish I'd taken a before & after video because their progress in their first session was like night & day. I'm the worst at remembering because I'm too focused on training more than worrying about getting socials content.

πŸ₯³ These two little ones worked so well for their mum yesterday, we kicked some big goals but also broke it down and took it slowly as these guys are a little older at 7 & 9 years old so their behaviour is really ingrained.

πŸ‘ we managed to get both dogs calmly leashed up & out of the house for their walk, which has never happened before!

Next step - building a solid loose leash walk and working on Hamish's reactivity when out!

πŸ€— I'm excited to see these guys again in a few weeks.

πŸ• Biscuit & Gus

These are the faces of 2 dogs that kicked absolute goals in their session this week.

When we first started training Biscuit (black kelpie x), she was super reactive and couldn't walk past a dog at any distance.

During our sessions, she improved every time! This week, she got past all the crazy barking dogs and didn't react once!

That's a testament to the hard yards her has owner put in between each session. What a fantastic outcome.

I'm beyond proud of them.

❀️ Missy & Buster

😍 I've had a couple of sessions with these guys, and my oh my, they've come a long way!

☎️ I was called in to help as Missy is quite fearful of people coming into her house, and she would bark and carry on to make those people stay away.

πŸ™€ This can be pretty confronting and scary for anyone who doesn't know her (and some that do!), and her owners wanted her to learn that there was nothing to worry about when people were there.

🍾 Today, her owners had visitors, and for the first time ever, it was a calm house with no barking or stress.

βœ”οΈ Yes, it did take management, but management is always needed during your training journey until the desired behaviours are reliable. This prevents the unwanted behaviours from being practised and becoming more ingrained.

I'm beyond proud of this team, especially Missy, who had a really horrible start to her life. Keep up the good work. You've got this πŸ‘

Meet Boof, the gorgeous 6 month old Rottweiler who has just finished his puppy package.

It's been such a pleasure watching and helping guide this boy into a beautiful, well-balanced dog that is great to live with.

This boy is so keen to please and loves to learn. He has given us many laughs during our sessions.

I'm really going to miss my visits (& Boofy cuddles) with this team.

A little snap snot of my last visit (first and last photo) vs my first visit. How much he's grown 😍

Meet Evie (Yvette), a super sweet 16 week old moodle pup.

Today we had our first session and worked on some important life skills, such as her name, recall & grooming.

Evie did a fantastic job and really took to being groomed like an absolute champion.

Really looking forward to seeing her grow and become a perfect pup!

🌟I really want to pump the tyres up of these owners.

πŸ—³Between sessions, I checked in with them, and they were worried they hadn't done enough homework with their dogs and that they couldn't really see much improvement.

❓️I wasn't sure what we'd be going over when we caught up, but we managed to do exactly what I planned, so to me, their progress was on point.

At our first session, Odin & Zahra were both quite anxious and reactive even in their yard. This session, they were really relaxed, not fussed about things going on externally, and we managed a short walk without pulling or blow ups πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

I'm super proud of these guys.

Just remember, we are always our own most harsh critic, and when you live with something, you don't really notice the small changes.

Meet Biscuit!

This young lady's owners had me out to help them with a few things, rushing their front fence and then chasing & barking when people or people with dogs walk past, her walking on lead and recall.

I implemented some strategies for them to work on when people are going past. Working on her recall will also help this.

Unfortunately, Murphy's Law was at play during our session, and no one really went past, but that gave us an opportunity to work on it all without too much distraction and set her up for success!

I'm really looking forward to our next session and seeing her progress with the exercises I've set for their homework.

These 2 dogs were so much fun to work with this week.

Our session was mostly focused on how the owner could work with one at a time without the other having a meltdown.

We worked on tethering and getting each do used to just watching rather than having to be involved.

It was great to see them both learn some impulse control while they watched on!

Snoopy had his second session this week, and all I can say is.....

IF YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK, YOU SEE RESULTS!

And this little guys family has done some amazing work with him!

Last time, he was out of control, nippy, jumpy, and just plain naughty. They loved him but they didn't particularly enjoy him.

This time, he did not jump on me once, spent time indoors without someone holding his leash, and was a delight to be around, you could see the shift in the family dynamics and how much they were enjoying him.

He has even been a calm lap dog and has been settling in his owners knee of a night πŸ‘

I'm so proud of his family and how far they've all come in this short journey so far. Next stop, Cafe pup 😍

Thoroughly enjoyed my session with this boy and his family.

Harley is a 6mo pup who loves to try it on.

He's full on indoors, so we focused on the importance of teaching him inside is for calm, outside is for play.

We worked on mat training, so we can start to give him an off switch and his owners a break from the puppy crazy. He was an A+ student.

Really looking forward to his next session!

Miss Bessie!

What an amazing turnaround from our first session, where we were being dragged up the road, totally ignored, and were literally lumps on the end of the leash!

This girl was walking on a beautiful loose leash, checking in and engaging with her handlers for the whole session, even when a dog went past, I'm annoyed I didn't get video of that one.

Clients that work on their homework are my favourite kind, and this week, everyone has blown me away with their progress. So proud πŸ‘

Remember the video of the barking dogs at the front door a few posts ago?

We had our second session this week, and wow, what a huge difference in these two since the first meeting!

Tank the rottie only barked twice, and Shyla didn't even bark 😍, beyond proud of the work their owners have put in to get them to this stage.

They've even had some little visitors stay and were fantastic with them.

We moved their training to a different environment this session so the dogs can start to generalise their commands and have a better understanding of them.

King & his owners had their second session with me this week!

I was very impressed by the difference in his behaviour when people came to visit, last time he was jumping, nipping and just generally out of control and having a 50kg puppy (yes he is still a puppy) doing this to you can be confronting if you're not used to it.

This visit he was calm, leaned in for pats, and did not jump or mouth once, even when excited.

His owners confidence was off the scale this time, and watching them work together as a team was just so nice. No more dog vs human.

So proud of this team πŸ‘

PS, how good looking is this boy, seriously 😍

Had my last session with Amber today.

The difference between when I first saw her to today was amazing πŸ‘

Her 'grandma' even commented that it was so much nicer to have breakfast like a normal person rather than being in a chair fort as Amber would continually jump and scratch at her. Now she calmly chills on her mat, waiting to be called over.

A lot of credit needs to go to Amber's owner, Jas, because if she didn't put in all the hard work, she would never have improved so much.

So proud of this team 🀩

Meet Marlo, a gorgeous little Staffy who has a few triggers that just shut her down, such as trucks, louder 4wds, and other metal banging sounds.

I'm super excited to help her work through that fear and build her confidence to create a dog that can work through anything!

In our first session, we worked on her basic foundations and talked about how to build her resilience to these slowly without sending her backwards.

It will be a long road for her, but we will get there
