Yesterday Dr Ji Youn & Dr Banjo had a very successful "gelding day" with multiple handsome Colts & Stallions, a procedure that plays a crucial role in their long-term health and temperament. Our skilled vets ensure that every step is taken with care and precision, making the experience as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Some of the benefits of Gelding are,
Improved temperament
Geldings are generally calmer and less likely to exhibit dominant or territorial behaviors.
Better Focus, without the distraction of sexual instincts, geldings are often more focused and responsive, making them better suited for training and work.

Lowered risk of injury from fighting with other horses.
Prevention of reproductive diseases like testicular cancer

This week was full of goats!
This little lady was brought in after struggling with birth, we were very lucky to witness a natural birth in the end and can't get enough of that little face!

🐾 VET STUDENTS GET A TASTE OF OUR REGION 🐾
We were happy to join with Dubbo Veterinary Practices to support 62 students from Wagga Wagga and Sydney recently. The students toured Dubbo to learn about the different locations their career can take them including the diverse opportunities a veterinary career in the Central West region can bring.
The students visited a number of local organisations, including veterinary practices and Taronga Western Plains Zoo while also enjoying other establishments and experiences Dubbo has to offer.
We hope to see them back in our city in the near future.

How often are you going to meet a goat with 3 legs?
This little one is a pygmy goat and got caught up in some wire which resulted in the leg needing to be amputated. The surgery was performed by Dr Banjo and a team of nurses who are ecstatic to report he recovered extremely well and walked herself out of the clinic.

Introducing our brave patient Buzz
Buzz is the much beloved dog of Darren who is unfortunately suffering from stage 4 cancer, so when we received a call from Darren pleading for us to help his best mate Buzz we got him in touch with the amazing team at the RSPCA who were able to help us make this happen.
Unfortunately Buzz got into a scuffle with another dog friend during the night which resulted in his eye injury.
Once in the clinic Buzz was prepped for surgery and the affected eye was removed leaving him feeling a lot more comfortable and able to get back to Darren to do what we are told he does best.... Snoring the house down!

We hit the jackpot this week with the most fun outgoing and willing to give everything a crack work placement student.
Ash is in year 12 and knows she really wants to work in the veterinary industry so she’s started tafe and is well and truly on her way to a great career. She has been such a delight to have in clinic and gifted the staff these chocolates today. How lucky are we!

We love our furry friends like family and sometimes feel guilt tripped into feeding them the yummy food we get to eat. As a result of feeding cooked bones this little one received a crown-root slab fracture of the upper carnassial tooth which as you could imagine was a very painful experience.
