SEQ Bird Club is an avicultural association of bird breeders & pet bird owners legally keeping aviary-bred native & exotic birds, based in Queensland, Australia. 31/10/24LH The Queensland government notified the club of their acceptance of the new name formally on 11th September 2024.

SEQ bird club hopes that all of our members and friends are safe and sound during these trying times.
If your Aviaries are suspended and are not cemented to the ground have a look at the photos this is a good way to secure them.
I use 1.3 star pickets a pack of 10 seconds from of Palmer steel at Stapleton they cost roughtly $38.00.

The Bush Stone-curlew is a large, slim, nocturnal, ground-dwelling bird, unlike any other bird in Australia. The Bush Stone-curlew was formerly quite common but has declined in numbers through loss of habitat and predation by foxes and feral cats. It can be seen on golf courses and even in cemeteries.

Our SEQ Bird Club Christmas party went off without any problems. It was a very hot day and I will be looking at some fans for next year.

We had 60 odd people turn up and have a lovely lunch with some good raffles also.

Big thanks to John and Heather Christensen for letting us have it at their place.
Thankyou to everyone who donated raffle prizes, and special thanks to Tayna for cooking such a delicious lunch, and we are looking forward to your cooking next year.

Thanks to the Hunter Valley Avicultural Society Inc. boys Paul and Vince for coming all that way to enjoy Christmas with us.

Thanks to my dedicated team for all the work they do - I would be lost without you all.

Yesterday was the last Beenleigh Bird Sale.
From now on it will be known as S.E.Q Bird Sale.
A very good day was had by all. Large crowd and there was a large array of birds on display.

One of our sellers Col Voll from Toowoomba was kindly delivered by a QAS ambulance!
They had a car accident down the road but no one was hurt, and after the paramedic checked Col out he decided to drop him off with his birds. This would be a first!

It was pleasing to see other club members attending, these people travelled long distances. Thankyou.

Yesterday was also a special day because we had a few avicultural legends at the sale: Alan Lynch, Les Banks, Ian Adcock, Peter Russell and Roy Braun. We were certainly mixing with great company.

Thank you to all of the helpers, you make my day that bit easier.
Our next sale at Eagleby will be 4th May 2025. Martin.

The Blue-Throated Conures are not happy with their new neighbour's a pair of Pearley Conures.
Without double wire birds will lose toes or experience foot damage.

Very good effort today at the Maryborough Expo and Bird sale. 76 tables hired and plenty of birds on display. Good to see the quality of the birds and display boxes, it really makes it easier to view the birds. Large crowd attended and congratulation to Dave and Errol and their team.

What a great day was had at the annual Beaudesert Bird Sale Sunday 30th June. Thank you to the Beaudesert Show Society for renting the Teese Pavilion and special thanks to all the vendors and public who attended. From all reports their was a good clearance rate on birds. Thank to everyone who helped setting up and of course pulling it all down. Our new trailer was great for transporting all our equipment to and from the sale. Very good to see vendors and buyers travelling from places like Kempsey, Toowoomba, Murwillumbah, Nanango and even Saint George. Thanks to everyone and we will see you all next year.
