POSITION VACANT
We are looking to add a new Rural Property Maintenance team member at our pet boarding facility in East Kempsey. The successful applicant will be assisting with maintenance of our 130 acre property.
This is a casual position and we foresee offering the right person between 2-3 days per week – weather permitting. You must be flexible, and able to work Monday through Friday, during school holidays and the occasional weekend.
Our ideal candidate must be physically fit and reliable. Experience with using (and maintaining) tractors & attachments, ride on mowers, push mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, power tools etc is advantageous.
Work areas will include (but not be limited to) paddocks, roads, fencing, land clearing, landscaping, watering and care of plants and some light construction.
No two days will ever be the same although some tasks can be repetitive.

Due to our increasingly busy business we are again looking to add a new team member at our pet boarding facility in East Kempsey.
This position will initially be casual however we forsee offering the right person a permanent position in due course.
You must be available to work Monday through to Friday, during school holidays and the occasional weekend. Shifts will range in length between the hours of 7am and 6pm.
Experience working with animals is desirable but not essential as training will be provided. However the right applicant MUST be comfortable and competent handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments. This, as well as other duties within the position, requires a moderate level of fitness and physical capability.
You must be able to work independently as well as with other members of the team.
You must have excellent literacy skills including spelling, grammar and punctuation, as our communication with clients is often written and must be professional. As well as this, reasonable computer literacy is required in order to competently use our bookings software and database.
Our business has a reputation for caring, compassionate and professional care of the highest standard and our new team member needs to want to be a long term and loyal member of the team who provides this service. In return, the right person will find themselves in a happy, caring and easy-going work environment with considerable job satisfaction.

• Washing, drying, and folding laundry.
• Processing bookings in our computerised booking system and database.
• Answering the phone as required.
• Handling payments.
• Grounds maintenance including watering plants, cleaning pathways and other jobs as required.

To our valued clients,

Firstly, here at Furhill we would like to thank you for trusting us with your wonderful pets. We are all incredibly lucky to be able to work with, and care for, all our amazing furry friends.
At Furhill we feel very proud to run our business in the right way. That is by having compassionate and experienced staff, exceptionally designed and maintained facilities and by using the highest quality products available so that your pets are given the care they deserve.
We began the business in pre-Covid conditions and have had 2 years of disruptions with only one year of regular trading. Over the last 3 years of operation, the national economic situations have been very volatile, with all businesses facing a series of rising costs.
Due to this, we have now had a thorough look at the financial details of the business and have been given advice regarding viable options for the future. One of these is to drastically reduce our main expenses. This comprises mainly the wages of our wonderful staff. If we were to accept this option it would significantly reduce the personal interaction with our furry visitors and compromise the loving care and quality of service that makes us stand out. The other option is to increase prices.
As we intend to remain in operation and refuse to provide a service that is below our quality standards, we have had to make a significant increase to our rates as of February 2023..

With the summer season coming and all the doggos wanting to be bikini-beach ready, we are absolutely swamped with grooming bookings. This means that we don't have any appointments left for summer 'dos until next year and, in order to look after our existing doggie customers, we are not taking any new grooming clients at the moment. We might be looking for you!

With the expansion of our boarding kennel facility in East Kempsey we are now looking for a new member of our team.
No experience is necessary as training will be provided however the right applicant MUST be comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments. This, as well as other duties within the position, requires a basic level of fitness.
We would like you to be able to work independently as well as with other members of the team and to have basic computer knowledge. Most importantly, you need to enjoy working as part of an easy going team who are committed to providing the very best of care to our furry boarders, as well as polite, friendly, and professional service to their owners.
Hours will vary but you must be able to work weekends and school holidays as well as during the week.
Duties will include but may not be limited to:

🐶 Covid 19 NSW Lockdown 😿
It is our understanding that at this stage, pet services such as accommodation (boarding) and grooming remain permissible during the state-wide lockdown, as long as Covid safe practices (as per our last post) are implemented. If you have any questions regarding safe drop off and pick up of your pets, or if your furry lock-down companions have a grooming booking that you would prefer to reschedule, please don't hesitate to contact us.

‼️Furhill Pet Boarding COVID safety information‼️

Here at Furhill Pet Boarding we have implemented precautionary measures backed by a COVID safety plan, and in line with recommendations from government health authorities.
When dropping off and picking up your precious fur babies we require you to check in and out using the QR code located at our front door. Additionally, all visitors must be wearing a mask upon entering our premises and limit their stay to no longer than 10 minutes.
Please note that only ONE pawrent is permitted to enter the premises when dropping off and picking up a fur family member. If, when you arrive we are dealing with another customer, we ask you to remain in your car until the previous customer has left before entering.
If you are experiencing even the mildest of symptoms, or you or someone you have been in contact with has travelled to any COVID hotspots or locked down areas, please do not visit our facility. If your pet has an upcoming booking, please contact us on 0409 551 401 and we will do our best to accommodate for your situation.
We’re all in this together, so let’s all do our part to get through these challenging times.

In compliance with NSW health regulations, all 2 legged customers visiting Furhill are required to wear a mask and check in using the NSW Government QR code provided. For our customers who do not have a smart phone or are for any reason unable to use the Service NSW app, a sign in sheet will be available.

We are so proud to be supporting the Lawrence Kid's annual Bowel Cancer Awareness Month fundraiser this year. Did you know Bowel cancer affects 1 in 13 Australian's over their lifetime, and is Australia's second deadliest cancer? All proceeds from this years fundraiser will be directly donated to Bowel Cancer Australia.
