HEALTH ALERT | A number of cases of canine parvovirus have been identified in the Hunter area and surrounds, highlighting the importance of vaccinating your pup 🐶🐾

Parvo is an infectious disease that causes gastrointestinal illness in dogs and can be especially dangerous in puppies. Symptoms include loss of appetite, severe vomiting, diarrhoea and dehydration.

If your pup isn't up to date on their vaccinations, it's vital you contact your local veterinarian to tee something up; if unvaccinated or left untreated, parvovirus can have a high mortality rate.

If your dog is showing symptoms, contact your vet immediately.

Before you take your beloved pooches for an afternoon or evening walk.

Keep your pet's paws safe during this heatwave with this simple rule. Take your shoes and socks off and stand on the path for five seconds. If it's uncomfortable for you, it will be for your dog too, so it's not safe to walk until it's cooler.

Unlike humans, dogs can’t sweat through their skin and so they rely on panting and releasing heat through their paw pads and noses to keep cool. Walk them during early mornings and evenings to prevent fatal heatstroke.

Home Visit:
We travel to visit your pets at your place when they need feeding + water top up, cuddles and play 🎾
We can come twice per day for this service (subject to location/availability)
