Yesterday at the Scapegoat Farm resulted in a quick trip to the vet for birthing kid 2 & 3 of Lizzy's triplets. Big thanks to Dungog Veterinary Hospital for their after hours service. Two girls and a boy (middle) are all doing great this morning.

Today was a super exciting day at Scapegoat Mini’s. Last month we did our first ever AI procedures on two of our girls, Koollomon Cosmo, and Scapegoat Modron (a maiden doe). We’ve been extremely anxious this last month, waiting to see if the girls came back into heat etc.
Well, today we got our results back from Pregtest Australia, and we are pleased to say, in 4 months time, we will have our first AI babies running around. I big thankyou to Rhonda Patton and Chris Lamin from Australian Dairy Goat Breeders Group for hosting the AI course in April, and Caprotek for their presentation and input.

One of the hardest things I’ve found to do on the farm is since owning goats is the dreaded disbudding. This little miss was disbudded this morning and it just shows you how quickly they get over it and become your bestie again.

Weighing in at 2.5 kilograms and the heaviest kid born @ Scapegoat Aus Mini & Pygmy Goats. Once again, Patona Park AROURA handled birthing like a pro with no assistance needed. She is such a great mum!

Sometimes there are those exceptions to the friendliness rule that take that extra bit longer to bring around. We usually get one or two a year who have the polar opposite personality to their friendly mums. This year it’s Atlantas twins, but I think I’ve finally broken this one.

One of the smallest born this year, this little man is struggling to compete with his two sisters for milk, so it looks like we've got our first bottle baby / hybrid for the year. Unfortunately, as good a mum as Semi is, she just isn't producing enough for three.

Scapegoat Semele (Semi) decided yesterday was the day she was going to surprise us with triplets. We thought maybe she'd give us 2 but she popped out two girls and a teeny tiny boy.

First time mum, Scapegoat Flora, did a great job yesterday giving us two little Pygmy twin girls without issue.
If you’ve followed us for a while, you might recognise Flora as one of the main girls who would sleep in the swing with me.
