JR Mugavin Racing and Pre-training Offers an experienced small team to educate and get horses fit, based on course in Warrnambool.
Contact Jo Mugavin for further details. We offer a variety of different ways to keep horses sound and get them fit ready to go on with there racing careers. We offer stabling on course at the Warrnambool Race Course, and have access to all training facilities in the area including, heavy sand track, fibre track, grass tracks, an equine park (includes flat work area and jumping facilities) pool, barriers, and of course the beach.

The day has finally come where we get to take Hrungnir back to the races, it’s been a long road back but we couldn’t be happier with how he is travelling. Will Gordon takes the ride in race 2 today at Warrnambool. We would like to wish all the connections best of luck today and here’s hoping our Maxy boy can do us proud today 💜💙💜💙

Atomic Gold lines up today in the Murtoa Cup, hopefully to bring up our first win but to also give the boss a birthday surprise as well as Tom Madden who takes the ride today. Good luck Tommy and Tom, bring us home a cup 💙💜💙💜

The stables newest edition, Mr Eighty Eight takes on the Pooncarie Cup today. Mr Eighty Eight was picked up on the Inglis Digital Auctions specifically aimed for this race, with a big group of owners from Pooncarie all the way down to Warrnambool it has been much anticipated. Melissa Julius has got to know him over the past few weeks and steers him around today. Good luck to all connections today 💜💙

One of our favourite exercises to do on our horses quiet days is to take them up for a lunge. It allows the horses to have a play, enjoy themselves and do some of the things they might not be able to do with a rider on their back. It offers them an easy day to stretch their legs as well as encouraging lots of long and low to stretch out their back muscles without the weight of a rider on their back. Here we have Ally (Maddie Raymond Racing) demonstrating a usual lunge day and enjoying herself 🏇🏼

JR Mugavin Racing & Pre-training has opened the doors again after some stable renovations.
We are based on course and offer on course facilities including heavy sand track, fibre track, grass tracks and pool at the Warrnambool Race course. Also included we have beach access, trail access and flat work/ dressage to cover all your horses needs. We range from young horses for education to older horses needing a change of scenery. We have a few spots available in our stable for some extra horses to pre-train and join our growing team. If you would like more information please contact Jo on 0458071092.

This particular horse gets a bit cheeky during track work so we brought him over to the equine park for a light jumping day to stimulate his mind and keep him happy and bright.
