It is also a short distance from Mt Langi Ghiran Vineyard, Buangor and many wineries of the Pyrenees region. ELMHURST NAMED:
A township with first, a canvas shanty, then a hotel, a store and blacksmith. The paddocks beside the Wimmera River reminded the settlers of England. These settlers called the place Elmhurst (after a village in South Staffordshire).
