The day off wasn’t exactly a ‘day off’, I still did what I love to do and made a couple of collars ✨

These two beauties are live on the website under our ‘Premade’ Collection. The top one will suit doggos with a 13”-15” neck, the bottom one to suit 14”-16” necks, both have a little leeway each side of the recommended size.

Groovy Lurecoursing slips for the win! These bad bois are 2” wide, perfect for weight distribution when your dogs are hauling into their collars ready for the Tally-Ho! These slips have a shorter lead designed for larger dogs, which makes them easier to control up to the start line and reduces the amount of slip upon release.

Available on the website by the end of the week, with a selection of different fabric designs, leash lengths and collar widths. All collars and leash handles are padded with super soft fleece and custom made to order.

I’m at most NSW Lurecoursing trials, so feel free to come and have a chat! I’m the one with the obnoxiously loud GSP 🤦🏼‍♀️

We’ve been plugging along quietly on the sidelines. Enjoying life, titling some dogs and saying goodbye to a couple of very much loved family members.

It’s not often that I make something for my own dogs, but I’ve had these amber cabochons and fancy buckle with matching dee ring sitting around for far too long. I took some time for myself recently and created a collar for my goodest girl, hopefully in celebration of a new title this weekend 🤞🏻

The design is my favourite ‘Seahampton’ dual layer leather collar. Amber cabs in black rim sets, with matching Fireopal and Jet black (along the border) Swarovski crystals in nickel plated brass rims. The fancy buckle and dee set is from a very talented silversmith in the USA.

On weekends the HV Dog Co ‘shop dogs’ do fun dog stuff, either traveling the country to shows, hiking in the mountains, going to the beach or days like today we go to Parkrun then chillax on the couch.

However last weekend we stepped out of our comfort zone to try a new dog sport! 8hrs of driving for less than a minute on the field, are we crazy? Absolutely! But it was totally worth it and we had a fantastic time. So much so that we are going back down in a fortnight to have another go.

Now, new dog sports means we need new gear - lucky I’m in the right field of work 😉 I whipped up a couple of Lurecoursing slips, gave them a trial run and they worked like a charm! I’m super keen to make up some more to add to our collection.

Who wants to see sporting gear added to the website? If you have any suggestions of something you guys would like to see us stock, but currently don’t, pop your ideas below 👇🏻👇🏻

Monday morning and back into the working week!

Behind the scenes at HV Dog Co we always make the most of our weekends and down time. Sunday was spent at a dog show where young Snow picked up a very nice Best of Breed win. To reward him for a days hard work of strutting his stuff in the ring we headed to my all time favourite beach for some relax time.

Catherine Hill Bay has some hidden gems of spots to take photos. If you head up to the cemetery and back towards the beach there is a super spooky little overgrown path with graves dotted along it.

Post processing for this shot only involved increasing the black point slightly, toggle the dehaze and chuck in a bit of vignetting to make it pop. Fog would totally make this a Halloween location hit 👌🏻

Snow is wearing his ‘Seahampton’ leather collar in brass with blues. And a big thanks to our buddies for helping/handling to get some stellar shots.

A couple of teenie tiny ‘Chevron’ collars that went out recently. As with any of our crystal collars, you are absolutely more than welcome to request colour combos other that what’s listed on the website. Just pop your request in the notes in checkout - it’s that easy!

First up is a super pretty dark purple centre crystals with a border of colour shifting Volcano crystals. And second is the most princess collar ever with all clear crystals.

Teddy’s new work of art has my favourite crystal colours, Peridot Shimmer and Iridescent Green. Brass is by far my ‘go to’ for tags too. Being a harder metal they come up super pretty with a mirror finish - something that Aluminium just can’t match.

What better way to start the weekend than with longlines! This one went out during the week and is caramel with caramel accents, 5m long and 16mm wide. The hardware is solid brass with a quality nickel plating - perfect for the beach and salt water! As with all of our Biothane gear the ends are sealed with our special clear sealer which waterproofs from the inside out 👌🏻
