Synti is the daughter of our president and has been in pain for years. Her childhood has been stolen from her and she has merely existed for much of the last 7 years. Some of you may have even met her at adoption days and you would never have known, she is a stoic young thing.
But now it is Synti's time to shine!
Help us help Synti to get to Italy for the medical treatment she needs to start living the life she deserves.

We are looking for a carer for poor old Zeus, can you help?

Zeus is only 4 yrs old but unfortunately needs to find himself a new home. Before we rehomed him he needs to come into care with us to have his vet work done.

He is a beautiful boy, good with other dogs and walks on lead even though he is still a little excitable.

What a day Friday was!
Kevvie and Dolly had to be at the vet by 7am to start the long day of reconstruction.
Dolly went first and her surgery went very well. Both her legs were corrected. One leg needing multiple plates and screws and one needing several pins. It was a long difficult surgery taking approximately 4 hours but the team at Coastorth vets believe Dolly's surgery should be a success and now is the beginning of a long recovery but a huge step forward for her and her future.

Next came Kevvie's surgery. Kevvie had a much worse deformity when looking at his x-rays and when Dr Dan got in there it was no lie he had his work cut out for him. After approximately 3 hours one leg was done and once again the team were happy with how he was looking but 3 hours under anaesthetic and probably another 3 hours to go, it was decided that was long enough for Kevvie to be under and I am sure the team were exhausted as well so Kevvie's second leg will be done in a week or two.

Both pups are doing great. Sure there will be a long road to recovery for them but the path on the other side is looking bright and full of long walks and plays in the sun.

For now they are both being spoilt rotten by there families and very well taken care of. Plenty of treats and cuddles will be had for the next 6 weeks as they are confined to crates and no running or playing but it will all be worth it in the long run.
We can not thank the staff at Terrigal vet and Coastorth vet enough for the time and effort put in for these 2 beautiful pups. They are the sweetest and more beautiful pups ever.
We will keep you updated on there progress and how things are going.

And just like that these cattle x Kelpie pups are ready for their new homes.
Sweet and innocent. There are a couple of pups that would do best with another dog but most are fine to just go and live a happy life with an active family with a well fences yard. You must be willing to train them and walk them as they are an active breed that need plenty of mental stimulation to keep them happy and out of trouble.

This is a plea for help!
Please if you can help please do? 💕

Tomorrow is the day Kevvie and Dolly get their legs!
But we need your help to make it happen.

Kevvie and Dolly were born with leg deformities. The family that had the pups were told by vets to euthanase them but they wanted more for them. They contacted us with the hope we could help. The pups were brought into care and taken for a vet assessment soon after where Dr Anthony said we would have to wait till they were closer to 6 months to do a full assessment on them but fingers crossed we could help them.
About a month ago the pups were taken back and assessed by Dr Dan at Coast ortho where clearly all the staff fell in love with the pups and Dr Dan did too. He set to work examining the pups, x-raying and then planning what could be done to help these super happy beautiful pups.
It is months in the planning but tomorrow is the day.
7am tomorrow both Kevvie and Dolly will be admitted to hospital and undergo some very complex surgical work. Both dogs will need plates and screws to reposition their bones. Kevvie is a bit more complex (x-ray below) as it is both his back legs but Dr Dan believes both dogs will be able to walk reasonably normally and pain free, unlike they currently are. Currently Kevvie does not weight bare on either of his back legs and Dolly only on one.
We can not wait to see how they go in a few weeks and we will keep you updated.

These surgeries are going to total approximately $14000 for both dogs. If anyone can spare some money to donate towards these pups we will gladly give you a tax receipt to add to your tax return next week as we are a registered charity.
These 2 pups deserve the best and can't let them down now.

She is a little timid with men but a velco baby with her current female foster carer.
She has basic manners but is very teachable and willing.

Such a big day at the Claws n Paws hub today.
Over 10 adoptions, several enquiries to follow up still, a new foster carer and an amazing donation by . These beds will all be well used and are so needed with over 35 cats at our hub and many more in foster care.
