Hi, Just letting everyone know, we have had a great year with lots of interest in our Beginners course. Safe to say we have been inundated with lovely people and dogs wanting to do agility. I have only just replied to anyone who has emailed us and unfortunately we are full up this year already and are taking a wait list for next year.

If you are very enthusiastic and happy to travel their are other options as Charlie Queen at Infinite K9 has a foundations course that runs in Strathpine, starting 6th September. I know she has some spots left.
Book here: https://infinitecanine.simplybook.me

Sonia Petrak at Active paws rehab also does indoor classes in agility, in Coolum and may have some spots for this year left.
https://activepawsrehab.com.au/

Get in contact with these people if you want to get started this year. We have higher level options and spaces in these classes if you complete the foundations level at another club/place.

Active Paws Rehabilitation & Fitness provides hydrotherapy and physiotherapy treatments for the rehabilitation and fitness of your dog on the Sunshine Coast.

Getting exciting in the Beginner's 1 Class - This is where we get to put more things together. Week 5 we started with a small sequence of obstacles. Dogs and handlers are doing great. Mark and George, Tash and Sandy and Kym and Otto. Well done everyone. https://youtu.be/M28RIFq0yoA

Remember - What makes a great agility dog? - not the ability to actually do the obstacle but the ability to work through distractions and focus on the handler whilst doing the obstacle. It is building this relationship between the handler and dog, that we focus on in the first 8 week course.

For those interested in joining the club, sadly, we are totally full up until the end of the year. If you would like to do something to help your dog succeed in agility find a local club that teaches tricks or just search in youtube for dog tricks and give them a try. Its a great start.

You can contact us for other options of how to start out training for agility.

Well we are back to training now. Everyone is looking great with their new shirts on. I have had many enquiries about the next intake, which is set for April. It is looking to be full already. I will start getting some deposits from people I have already spoken to, we only have 10 spots so I will contact people as I get an opening. For all of you who are waiting to hear from me apologies, most of us are volunteers with jobs, including me I will get to you soon as soon as I can. If we can fit you in the April intake we will, if not it looks like the next intake may be the start of July and I can start taking names once I have sorted out the April list.

2023 Fundraiser Calendar
DOGS of the Greater Sunshine Coast have produced our very own Dog Agility Calendar in order to raise funds for new equipment. We have been training in Eumundi for 6 months now and have been fortunate to have some equipment on loan, however we will eventually need our own. These calendars are bright and colourful, with some fantastic photos of actual agility dogs who compete in South East Qld, and they will make a great xmas present for the dog enthusiast. They are also a great resource as they have the contact pages of all the closest Dog Agility Clubs and other useful doggy resources. If you are interested in purchasing one of these calendars, please message us here or email us at [email protected]. Calendars are $20 and postage is free within Australia.

Thanks everyone who came down to the information day today. We hope you all had some fun with your dogs and learnt something about agility training. Apologies to anyone who missed out. Anyone interested in joining in classes the next intake is October 2nd. In the meantime we recommend taking some noseworks classes and/or trying some trick classes. Agility is, after all, just a series of tricks. See out friends link page on our website for places to train. Ultimate k9 for noseworks. For tricks try Sonia at Active Paws and Suncoast Fundogs at Elimbah also do trick training.
