💎MINKY ANNOUNCEMENT💎

🩷MINKY HAS HER FUREVER FAMILY🩷

I could not be more thrilled to announce that MINKY will be going home to Nana Joan and Poppy Gary.

But first I have to acknowledge her original family who named her and have been ever so devoted to her since even b4 her conception, the 9 weeks of pregnancy, the birth and then the next 7 weeks.

However after a couple of visits and many conversations we all felt MINKY was better suited to a pet home and I completely support their decision and thank them so very much for their belief that Minky had other hearts to complete. That would have been a very difficult decision and a very sad decision for them to make.

So our MINKY will leave us Friday week where she will go live out her life between Ampika’s Granny’s home and our home too. Both girls will get to have many moments together, Mr Kolorko and myself could not be more thrilled. We will continue to keep everyone updated on this very very special little girl and in honour of her original family her pet name and pedigree name will remain as originally selected by them -

I AIN’T MISBEHAVING
I’m just doing what dogs do!

What may look like misbehaviour is often just a dog behaving as dogs naturally do.

We expect so much of our dogs when we bring them into our world, forgetting that they are a different species that don’t arrive pre-programmed to behave in a way we expect them to.

We hold dog’s captive in a confined, unnatural space and then become frustrated when they don’t behave the way we expect.

We become frustrated when our dogs don’t walk nicely on a lead, don’t get on with every other dog or person they meet, steal food from counter tops, don’t give things back, guard resources, dig, chew or destroy what they shouldn’t, bark, howl, whine or perhaps growl etc.

We need to replace our frustration and our need to train away or fix unwanted behaviour with understanding, patience and guidance.

Understand that dogs naturally behave in a certain way. Be patient while guiding them to learn a different way to behave through using force free, positive reinforcement methods, meeting their needs and managing their environment.

Providing outlets to engage in natural behaviour, providing mental, physical and social stimulation and understanding why dogs behave the way they do will create secure relationship and make such a difference in their lives.

One of the greatest gifts we can give our dogs is our understanding.

THANK YOU TUESDAY!!

REMI and I headed out to training both yesterday morning and this morning. We are getting ready to compete this coming weekend in RALLY EXCELLENCE.

THANK YOU REMI for still being so enthusiastic to work alongside me in the competition ring after all these years. Remi is now 10.5 years of age.

THANK YOU to my Durack Monday Morning Training Friends - BILL, LEONIE, PAM and MANDY.

THANK YOU to CASS for all your help on Tuesday mornings. With out you guiding me we wouldn’t be in the ring I’m sure of it.
