From Forgotten to Flourishing: Buzz and Woody’s Rescue Story 🐴🐴

Seven months of specialised love, expert care, and the unwavering dedication of our dear friend Annette and the team here at Kyllarie have transformed these boys’ lives!

Kyllarie Retreat answered the call last year to save these two forgotten souls. In March 2024, they were healthy and thriving, but a series of unsuitable homes left them in heartbreaking condition. By the time we took them in July, they were weak, barely able to walk to the float—but they made it, and we immediately went into recovery mode.

Seven months later, Buzz & Woody are filled out, firm, and absolutely thriving! A huge thank you to the incredible Annette for her tireless support and to all of you who take lessons with us—every dollar you spend helps fund all our rescues like these at Kyllarie. Because of you guys, we can continue giving back to the horses who need us most! We appreciate your support more than words can say 💖✨🫶🏼🤎🐴

Starting tomorrow as a part of our Valentines Week we will be serving up “Straw-Berry In Love” Shakes 🤤 We are also teaming up with the beautiful Paige from .another.hobby_ who will be selling some milkshake candles that look so good you want to eat them too! (Definitely don’t though 😜) These make the best and easiest gifts for your parents, boyfriend/girlfriend, best friend, grandparents, boss, or just anyone! 🌟 A HUGE thank you to everyone who joined our School Holiday Program at Kyllarie Retreat! 🌟

From horse rides to arts and crafts, and laughs around the farm - these holidays were nothing short of amazing! 🐴🎨☀️ Seeing all the happy faces (both kids and ponies) made it so special.

A big shoutout to the parents, our wonderful staff, and of course, our superstar kids who made every day an adventure. We hope you all had as much fun as we did!

Halfway through our much loved school holiday program here at Kyllarie. As we start to fill spots up for the final 4 days over the next 2 weeks, I thought I’d share some FAQ’s.

1. Do I need to come to multiple days or can I just do one?
- You can absolutely just do one! We don’t require you to book multiple days to get the best experience and benefit from our program.

2. Do I need to stay for the day and watch my children?
- That one is completely up to you! You’re more than welcome to stay and watch, however, majority of our kids parents use this time to run errands/work etc. It really is the best of both worlds knowing your kids are having fun and are safe all whilst you’re able to get stuff done. We do encourage parents to join for the last 30 mins to watch their kids ride ba****ck to finish off the day.

3. Do I need to have ridden a horse before?
- Absolutely not! We encourage riders of all abilities and backgrounds to participate. We organise our days thoughtfully and split riders into groups depending on their prior experience. Then all our groups are carefully taken for a ride with one of our experienced trainers.

4. What do I need to pack for my kids?
- It’s a top priority that plenty of water is packed as it gets very hot and we are quite active. Besides that pack a morning tea and lunch, or we have a cafe onsite where the kids can purchase food and drinks. Make sure to wear sturdy, included shoes for safety, and definitely a hat for sun protection.

5. What happens if it’s raining on the day?
- Luckily for everyone we go ahead even when it’s wet! If it’s absolutely pouring we will go undercover and rearrange the daily schedule to suit. You don’t miss out on anything even if it’s raining, we promise. You are more than welcome to pack raincoats (if you have them) for your kids.

Finishing off our first day of the school holiday program riding ba****ck for the parents to watch 🤩 Everyone did so well today, we can’t wait to see what the rest of the month holds 🤎🐴🫶🏼

Looking for something different and extremely fun for the kids to do these school holidays?

Kyllarie Retreat is running its ever popular all day horse program from today 7th January until the 25th of Jan 🤠🐴🐎 Open for all riding levels/abilities as we will teach everything you need to know.

You can find a video from this morning on all our social platforms to see what it’s all about 🤎🐴🫶🏼

Cost is $120 for the day (9am to 3pm), send a packed lunch box and plenty of water. The kids will love learning all about horses, how to handle them and of course riding 🏇 We take active and creative vouchers to help with payment also.

There will be arts and crafts also during the quiet time so make sure the kids don’t wear good clothes. Long pants and enclosed shoes is a must though.

Having a family celebration for our sons 20th at the amazing Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat crystalcreekrainforestretreat has blown us away. Thank you to Annie, Matt, Olli and Ali for welcoming us into your home and spoiling us rotten. An amazing place to visit and seeing the glow worms was spectacular as is the tranquil venue.
Leave the kids at home and have a nice quiet couple time away, highly recommend parents, spoil yourselves, you deserve it. 💞

Big shout out to Naturally Cooked naturallycookedsunscreen for making the best sunscreen I have ever used.

Not greasy, not thick, a little goes a long way, absorbs quick and has kept all our students and staff sun safe 🙏🙌 We are very impressed with their sunscreen

These lads are local to tweed and have put their hearts and souls into making this product so please support them as they are supporting so many local business also. 😊
