To achieve a life of harmony and symbiosis with your high energy dog some things that need to be maintained include but are not limited to; routine, structure , boundaries, clear communication, constructive energy outlets, mental stimulation, intentional rest breaks and separate sleeping quarters.
Below I would like to describe a clients journey and how Paradise Pet Parks & House of the Fallen hounds have been able to assist in creating Harmony in the Household for Alanah, her young, working family, Bella the Lab and Bentley the English Springer Spaniel.
Alanah approached House of the Fallen Hounds at first to assist her in rehoming Bentley to a suitable and loving household.
After several email and phone conversations, providing a non-judgemental space and supportive network for Alanah and her situation with Bentley, it became clear that the family did in fact want to try to achieve a balanced household with Bentley in it.
It was just that they originally thought that this was something that wouldn’t be realistically achievable, because of his separation anxiety, high energy demands, lack of boundaries with other dogs in the household and because as a young working family they did not feel they had the time to provide Bentley with a certain quality of life.
At this stage Paradise Pet Parks stepped in and Bentley came to stay with us to complete an Intense Two week Board and train program.
Bentley is and was an already obedient dog before undertaking the board and train program.
He could walk nicely on a lead, do basic obedience under distraction and much more.
What Bentley needed most was to learn how to regulate his behaviour, become more confident as an independent dog away from his housemates and owners and to establish a clear line of communication and understanding with humans.
During his time at the park the trainers focused on crate training, structured activities and engagement, discovering energy outlets that Bentley enjoyed, placement

Self Care
It’s no secret that Smokey has a special place in my (Kaitlyn) heart! As does every ACD that we see 😂
But today was extra special as Smokey has been a long term customer and we have seen him grow old and learnt a lot from him! This was his last visit with us before he moves away with his pawrents for a new adventure!
So we pampered Smokey with a free “self care” day to show you all what’s included and how it works!
We gave him a very nice bath! Big brush! Cleaned his ears and eyes and just gave him a general check over. Smokey was on his best behaviour and loved the attention
Smokey’s showing off some old photos at the end ❤️❤️❤️
We love you Smokey as we do all the dogs! But there is always a special place in our hearts for the ones that grew with us
Thank you for choosing us Smokey and good luck with the move 🥰
Happy Oodle day! The curly kids are here to liven up our Thursday! 🐾

A quick update on our rehome boys working so hard on their manners, basic obedience and impulse control to give them the best chance at finding their forever homes. So incredibly proud of Murphy, Jimmy and Hank 💜
If you haven’t already seen our post on Murphy. He came to us since being surrendered from a life on a chain because he is and was so much ‘dog’ to handle. We are giving him a second lease on life by providing him with structured training to implement some management strategies to hopefully have him one day end up as a beloved pet, in the hands of the right owner.
At this stage in Murphy’s training we are working on conditioning him to a slipline. Murphy has no real leash experience at all so the first thing we needed to do was teach him to yield to the pressure (which we have already been working on) when he reaches the end of the line. You can see already how receptive Murphy is to the training and that is also helped by the positive reinforcement provided when he moves with me and checks in! Doing well Murph! 💜
We will keep you guys updated on his journey and will soon have some incredibly exciting news to share about our rehome and rehabilitation plans for dogs who sometimes fall between the cracks 🐶 The misunderstood dogs who deserve just as much love as any others 💫
Our Walk n Train students visited Berry NSW.
The next Walk n Train Bus is scheduled for the 7th of Feb- flick us a email or phone call if you would like to book your dog in ✨️😊
