‼️Leptospirosis Vaccinations are BACK‼️

Leptospirosis Vaccinations are given to fight off one of the dangerous diseases spread by mice and rats 🐀🦠. If your pup is overdue on their Leptospirosis vaccination due to the recent nation-wide shortage, please book in via our online booking system or contact us on (02) 4959 5766. If your pet has been seen within the past 12 months, then they’re eligible for a Nurse Consultation to administer this vaccination booster (this will eliminate the cost of a consultation!)

Georgia is our trainee nurse who is soon due to graduate. She has grown exponentially in her time here with us and our team is so proud to see how far she has come. She fits into our team perfectly, much like the last piece of the puzzle 🧩

Today we wish farewell to our beautiful nurse Jada 😿

Jada has been working with us over the past few months to gain experience in the general practice world of Veterinary Care, while enrolled in a traineeship at AREC. It has been a privilege to experience her intelligence, compassion and care 🩵 Her bright personality and contagious smile uplifts the whole team every Monday. Although our Monday’s will not be the same without her, we wish her the best of luck throughout her nursing journey 🩺

🐶🦷 Curious about why dental x-rays are so important?

Dental radiographs (x-rays) have become an integral part of veterinary dental care in recent years. Performing dental radiographs allows our veterinarians to uncover up to 40% more pathology than clinical examination alone, thus providing another tool to catch and address dental issues before they become a larger problem. Only examining teeth above the gumline is the "tip of the iceberg" 🗻to the many dental diseases faced by our patients, whereby most of the issues we treat involve the critical tooth roots.

Our clinic uses a state of the art dental radiography machine to obtain images of the roots of teeth within the mouth during dental procedures, facilitating a complete oral and dental assessment. This also provides us with information to manage any areas of concern in future, in our quest to maintain dental hygiene and a disease free mouth in your pets! 😸

🙋‍♀️ Who loves a good before and after?

Moosje visited us today for a professional teeth clean, where we transformed his teeth to become pearly white again ✨🦷

During March we’re offering 10% off ALL dental procedures! A professional teeth clean allows us to remove nasty plaque build-up before it invades the gums, which can lead to gingivitis, tooth decay, bone-loss and infection.

Please call our friendly team on (02) 4959 5766 to book your furry friend in.

🌹 Valentines Day 🌹

Keep your furry friends safe this Valentine’s Day by choosing cat friendly flowers 💐
All parts and variations of Lilies are fatally toxic to cats, but they are not the only threat. Avoid Baby breath, Chrysanthemums, Daffodils and tulips.

Also, remember to keep chocolate out of your pets reach! 🍫

If you suspect your pet has consumed toxic flowers or chocolate. Please seek Veterinary attention immediately.

🐶🐾 An important message from Alfie coming to New Year’s celebrations:

“As everyone celebrates New Year’s with parties and fireworks, it can be a popular time for our pets to try and escape. My tips to ensure your loved ones come home safely are:

⭐️ Ensure any gaps or weak spots in fencing are repaired, or bring your pets inside if you can
⭐️ Ensure your contact details are up to date with your local council and NSW Pet Registry
⭐️ Keep an ID tag on their collar with your contact details
⭐️Chat to your vet if you’re having trouble with their stress levels during noisy occasions, events or storms. We have a wide range of options to help treat and manage stress!”

As always, we are here through the New Years period for all of your pet care needs (excluding Sundays and public holidays). Bring on 2024! 🎉

Jessie was treated recently for tick paralysis, she received a “tick clip” where we shave all her fur to extensively search for any ticks. She was looking so cute that we had to capture it with a drawing ✍️

Ticks are present all year round, however when the temperature increases 🌡️ the presence of ticks increases as well. Once they latch onto your beloved pet, a toxicity can develop resulting in rapid and severe paralysis, a very serious and potentially lethal condition.

Luckily, many different types of preventatives are available to protect our furry friends. Prevention has to be given exactly as recommended by the manufacturer to be effective and to ensure your pets are protected 🐶🐱 Please ask our lovely staff members what products would best suit you and your pet’s needs.

Look at this handsome boy! 🐶 Drexel visited the clinic to receive his second dose of Beransa - an exciting new drug for the management of arthritis and the associated pain. Drexel was feeling and moving a lot better after only one injection, and we’ll see even better results as we continue into the course.

As veterinary care improves, more of our pets live into their senior years. Which is amazing to see, however this means we often have to take a little extra care to keep them comfy and happy. Book a consult with one of our awesome Vets if your dog or cat has been moving a little slower these days. We have many options to help your little one live their happiest and healthiest lives 😸

😻 Isn’t Daisy the cutest?
Daisy was desexed with us last week, and she was the sweetest little patient! Desexing your pets can have many benefits beyond preventing unwanted litters. In females, desexing can greatly reduce the risk of certain types of cancer and prevent them developing the dangerous and life-threatening condition of pyometra (a pus-filled uterus 🤒)
Call the clinic on (02) 4959 5766 to book a consult with one of our awesome vets to chat about your options.

Meet Thunder! ⚡️ This adorable little man’s mum was concerned as it looked like he was trying to vomit one night. However, he seemed to recover.

Thunder then came in for a Routine puppy vaccination the following day and vomited up a lamb cutlet bone! 🍖

This could have caused a really nasty internal injury and highlights the importance of keeping bins out of reach of mischievous puppies! 🐶
