Meet Ember, a 3 year old kelpie.
Her owners Lynne and Lyndsay have been training her using a technique called Cooperative Care which is training to ensure handling and medical care are easier and less stressful for the pet, their owner and the veterinary team.
Lynne and Lindsay desensitised and counter conditioned Ember to the sensation of a pointy object (needle) touching her skin by using the tip of a syringe, then a pencil and finally a wooden tooth pick so that feeling the needle was not completely foreign and a surprise to her. She has had some scary experiences in the past and has actually yelped when being injected. This training meant that this year’s annual vaccinations were a much more pleasant experience for Ember and her parents.
Well done to Lynne and Lyndsay on such exceptional and innovative training!
A very special old lady turned 21 on Valentines Day 😍
We're not sure how much Boots approved of our singing bit we felt we need to mark the momentous achievement in the best way we could!
Boots - you're a very special little moggy and we love you despite the fact you put your cranky pants on and need a "chill pill" every time you come to see us. Your age is a tribute to the care provided by your mum, Chelsea and dad, Greg.
We're hoping to see you make it to 22! 🥳
We love when Pixie comes to visit! 🥰 We are so glad you are starting to feel better sweetheart ❤️

Did you know, just like us, brushing your pets teeth is the gold standard to help remove plaque and prevent tartar accumulation.
Here is Nurse Bridie demonstrating how to brush Stanley’s teeth. The best way to keep their mouths happy and healthy, is to brush their teeth with a soft toothbrush and a pet friendly toothpaste 🪥
Remember don’t use human-grade tooth paste to clean your dogs teeth. Human toothpaste often contains xylitol an artificial sweetener that is toxic to dogs.
You can keep on top of your pets oral hygiene with more than just tooth brushing. You can also add plaque off, water additives, dental diets and treats!

Caesar
Say Hi to nurse Heidi's little man. Caesar loves coming to visit us at the clinic. Caesar has been without his hind leg since Nurse Heidi adopted him when he was 10 weeks old. His disability has NOT slowed him down one bit! We actually think he doesn't know dogs are supposed to have 4 legs .... Sshh ! don't tell him.
Caesars zest for life and happy, silly presonality is contagious,
he is living proof dogs can copy extremely well with only 3 limbs
Go Caesar !!
Check this out!
Nurse Makenzie’s new kitten!
She was surrendered to us and needed a great deal of loving and care. Now she’s growing bigger and stronger every day!
Like if you think she’s adorable! ❤️
Nurse Makenzie’s kitty was here for a visit yesterday and oh boy was he sooky!
Show us your sooky pets in the comments below ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
This sweet Brush Tailed Possum lives in the bush surrounding Nurse Makenzie’s family home and yesterday was found on the ground in the morning.
Possums are nocturnal so this was irregular. Makenzie brought her in for a check up and thankfully she got the all clear!
She is now back right where she came from because Possums are extremely territorial.
Not before sharing Makenzie’s fruit lunch though!
Late last Thursday, when it's well past home time but your patient needs some extra love 💙
Misty the cat wants out!
Misty was with us because she was off her food and quite lethargic which had her family worried.
After staying with us for observations and getting some antibiotics she is feeling much better as you can see!
How cute is Ralph! He's enjoying his 3rd syringe of Critical Care, an important step post op for bunnies to help prevent gut stasis.
