This is a hard goodbye 😔

VONDARCOR BRAVO and VONDARCOR BANDIT - aka retired QLD Police Dogs BRAVO and BEAU. Both served formidably in their 8 years of service, passing away within just a month and a half of each other at 11 years old.

11 years ago, a phone call from PD BEAU’s Handler answering a puppy announcement advert became, for us, the beginning of what continues to be a great working relationship with the QLD Police Dog Squad. Yet for their Handlers and families, so much more. I cannot be more proud of the dogs they became at the hands of their Handlers - both providing loving homes into their retirement.

Both BRAVO and BEAU were known for their high tracking aptitude and no nonsense character and attitude to their work. It was their social stability, especially within their family environment that was remarkable - to be able to transition from work to loved family member certainly made them the full package.

Grateful to both men and their families, our thoughts are with you.

Our objective at VON DARCOR Kennels is to produce strong, versatile working dogs, with specific regard to health and stable temperament, together with high, balanced working drives.

VON DARCOR German Shepherds have invested into the improvement of our working dogs and betterment of the German Shepherds we breed through the importation of dogs and frozen semen into Australia, always with our personal objectives in mind, as well as compliance with the German Shepherd Breed Standard 🇩🇪🇨🇿🇦🇹🇺🇸

Our dogs are thoroughly health scrutinised. Hips and Elbows are xrayed and screened under the HD/ED Scheme of the German Shepherd Dog Council of Australia (GSDCA). VON DARCOR Kennels have been awarded the Bronze Medal for HD/ED under the GSDCA 🥉

Further, orthopedically, our breeding dogs and government contract dogs undertake xrays of the spine to ensure they are clear of Spondylosis 🩻

All breeding dogs utilised in our breeding program are full breed profiled for inherent genetic diseases through DNA 🧬

VON DARCOR German Shepherds participate and are titled in both ANKC and IGP Dogsports, with two VON DARCOR dogs recently qualifying for the 2024 WUSV and FCI World IGP Championships to represent Japan.

We are fortunate to have placed puppies and dogs in loving active family homes and are as proud of our family dogs as we are, those dogs undertaking professional and sporting careers 🌟

We breed limited litters of puppies annually - retaining puppies to train and develop for working contracts from each of our breeding combinations. This being our main priority.

Recently we were hacked over Facebook, resulting in us having to start new private and kennel accounts. With the loss of our older accounts we lost many years of memories, sentimental photos, achievements and of course our wonderful followers.
