As usual not without drama 🤦‍♀️
Centerfold had to be scratched because of a tight nail leading up to the show , the trip up was just too much for her , despite everyone’s efforts to get her into the ring , it wasn’t meant to be .🥲Thankyou Brett Welsh , Bob and Desarae Sim for trying .

Mia and Capri made their Royal show debut , both trying their heart out to come home with bows in all classes and some homework to do leading up to the next one , as parents we are both so proud of them both what a legend horse Capri is ! Tina Mahoney❤️

Major looked a treat and after his true to form cheeky Thunder moment in his hack class , he redeemed himself once again and came home with the goods to win the station /timetrial also 2nd in his working class and placed in all other classes throughout the week .Amanda Louise Sullivan🍾🥂

Brydie Wigg ‘s Bryrose Pure Platinum got a quick rundown on show horse life taking it all in her stride and was happy to sleep most of the show away after winning her yearling led 🏆she may have also adopted a new name , those who know no 🐯

I think if there was a prize for the most successful aisle we would have it on the bag !
Huge congratulations to Ash Whiting for winning , champion led stallion , ASHLA, champion hack and reserve champion working !!
Wow what an achievement such a great combination!

Blacktown show
Mia and I went on our own today , so many classes , such a great little show , can’t remember all the results exactly but Mia and Capri came home with two Reserve champions and centerfold came home with 2champions and a reserve .
The sun was shining and hot to catch up with family and friends all whilst doing what we love !

Gresford show 2024
Thanks to the amazing committee and local community , such a great little country show .
Friday was stock horse day with Adelle Centerfold taking home the supreme led which was again sponsored by the Varley family Thankyou for the beautiful trophy rug and prize money .
Mia had a big day starting with the draft , she rode so well and managed to get the full course !
She also competed in the ash ring with Capri and had to ride up against the best of them in champion hack , she did a great job with many thanks to Miranda OBrien for talking her through the pattern, also huge congratulations on the win 🏆
Mia didn’t have time to compete in the local ring at all but Adam and Major came out of there with a champion ribbon and Eliza Barrett and I got a bow in the parent and child rider which is always a fun class😊
Overall very hot and dusty but great day with Mia receiving runner up high point rider , congratulations to the little legend Mia Badior for that win .👏
Mia decided that Capri had done enough and opted out of the sporting so we could race home to feed up and get back to the pub to watch Adams band play .🥁🍾🥂
Saturday Mia was part of the junior showgirl competition which she thoroughly enjoyed with a huge congratulations to Camille Chevally on the win and Eliza Barrett receiving runner up .
Mia also submitted some of her photography and was lucky enough to win some prize money for those also ! 💰
The evening entertainment was certainly entertaining with Huey Price and Adam both making up numbers in the dirt bike barrel race , let’s just say they both had a couple of hiccups and neither made it through to the final , maybe next year boys ! 🤣

What a great place to kick start the season , we took 4 horses this year and all 4 bought home ribbons , we couldn’t crack a blue but got plenty of red ones and places across the board , I even managed to bring home a pink one , for Janelle 🩷
A huge shout out to everyone who helped get us into the ring , Amanda you are the best , Zoe , Libby ,Vanessa , Maddie for helping me clean my gear 😅 Brydie congratulations on your girl taking home the win again this year !
Chantelle you did an amazing job stepping up on Cass and Koa looked great as usual , thanks to the team peacock Adam for the laughs and congratulations to all the other competitors and to the committee and judges who do their best to keep everyone happy .
Can’t wait to catch up with everyone and do it all again at Sydney royal in a couple of weeks .

Olympian Shane Rose Cleared Over Mankini Fiasco

Olympic eventer Shane Rose will be free to continue his campaign for a place on the Australian eventing team for the 2024 Olympics.

Equestrian Australia has issued a statement this afternoon confirming that Rose did not breach the code of conduct by wearing a mankini to a fancy dress showjumping event on February. 11.

"Shane has reflected on the incident, has apologised and understands the high standards expected of everyone involved in our high performance program," EA CEO Darren Gocher said in a statement.

EA also said a number of recommendations were made following the investigation including that:

Equestrian Australia work with clubs and stakeholders to assess minimum dress standards for future events;

And that, Equestrian Australia review the education modules for the High performance program to ensure they are fit for purpose.

What has now become known as "mankinigate" has attracted worldwide media attention with many in the equestrian and broader sporting community claiming it has shown the sports governing body in a poor light and raised question over EA's ability to manage the situation.

The incident also resulted in the resignation of EA board member and the Chair of the Integrity Committee Tim Palmer. He said he does not support the manner in which the matter has been handled and informed EA of his resignation effective immediately, earlier today.

“Clearly I have a disconnect with the position taken and I have therefore tendered my resignation from the board of the EA effective immediately. Hopefully this storm in a teacup is shut down fairly quickly and without further delay and allow Shane to prepare for the Paris Olympics. Best wishes to Shane,” he said in a video posted to Facebook.
