A busy night for Police Dog Duke, his handler and Southern District patrols rounding up four arrests in two separate incidents!

Two teenagers were arrested after being spotted in a stolen car overnight.

The stolen white Mitsubishi ute was detected by police on Hanson Road, Dry Creek about 10.40pm on Saturday 26 October and followed at a distance as it heading south onto South Road.

PolAir was called in to assist.

Police successfully spiked the ute's tyres on Merchant Street, Mitchell Park and the vehicle eventually stopped in a dead-end street in Thirza Avenue.

Patrols quickly cordoned off the area.

The driver and passenger ran from the vehicle across the train line with Police Dog Duke and handler hot on their trail.

Both were quickly rounded up.

The two boys, both aged 15, were arrested and charged with illegal use.

Then at 4.30am, police were called to an alarm activation at a premises under construction on Marion Road, Plympton.

Police Dog Duke and handler were the first to arrive and located two people hiding behind a skip bin.

Patrols arrived and arrested the pair.

A 38-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man, both from Ascot Park, were charged with being unlawfully on premises. The woman was also charged with unlawful possession after she was allegedly found in possession of equipment stolen from the site.

The alarm company was thrilled with the PD Dukeโ€™s work! Copper and other thefts from building sites cost businesses and insurers a lot of money and cause damage and delays. Police were pleased to be able to prevent any damage or property being removed from the site.
