Introducing the newest member of our family ~

🪇 Marley ~ Seatosky Soul Rebel of Nevicata

Marley comes from our dear friends Courtney and West to join the Nevicata team. She has an exceptional pedigree from well proven working bloodlines in Europe and the US.

Shes made herself right at home and fits in very well with the pack! She already thinks shes one of the ‘big dogs’.

Marley will join her aunty Sage and best mate Libby on the trails next year. Look out rig class, here we come 🧡☺️

Thank you again to my partner in doggie crime Courtney for our sweet puppy. I know how hard the decision was, and how much time and effort you put in to make this litter happen.

We’re looking forward to watching her grow along with her littermates Nesta, Delta, Arlo and Frankie! I cant wait to see these firecrackers hit the trails next year 💥

And thats the end of sledding season ☀️🐾

Last weekend seen us back at Kowen Forest for The Siberian Husky Club of NSW backpacking event as an organiser and participant 🐾🥾

We only hiked the first day with Sage carrying 30% of her body weight for 16km gaining another qualification towards her Working Pack Dog title.

Libby came along for about 10km and absolutely loved it!

The hike went very well! It was lovely to sit around on Saturday afternoon with a platter and cake for one last catch up before we call an end to sledding season.

Thank you to everyone that helped with the event, and more importantly for all the laughs and chats 🧡

🌟 The Inaugural UltraDog 50km Event 🌟

On Saturday night Sage and I took part in the first ever 50km event. We entered as a single discipline solo musher - I rode a push bike 🚲

We started at 7.30pm and finished at 5am with 5 hours run time, and 4.5hrs total rest time taken between each lap at the checkpoint.

The trail was beautiful, and challenging! We’ve been training for the past 2.5 months and I was still not prepared for the hills, especially the goat track which at one point I wasn’t sure I was going to make it to the top!

I absolutely love being out on the trails at night with just my dog. We barely seen anyone and ran 50km alone in the middle of the forest ~ pure bliss ✨🌲

Sage is an absolute champion! She done exactly what she was bred for ~ Performed her original function in harness most capably, carrying a light load at a moderate speed over great distances.

She was the recipient of the first ever Cowboy Award, presented to an incredible dog that shows resilience, spirit and determination that defines a true sled dog. We were very honoured to receive this award 🐾🖤

Thank you to the UltraDog committee for a fantastic event with great, well thought out trails and showcasing true sled dog culture. It was an unforgettable weekend!

Thank you to all my sledding buddies for their support, especially Ange who was my sounding board and a big support during our training ✨

Another thank you to Blake and Jen Freking for all their guidance and support with my training and preparation. They gave me the confidence to believe we could actually do it ☺️
