A short hike this morning to Peregrine lookout at Weddin! We climbed up and down some rocks, up stairs, over logs and Jaido enjoyed checking out the caves.

The dogs have been doing hydrotherapy!
Sage is purely for fitness and we’re working on building up Stella’s glute muscles.

During the ‘off season’ we’ve been working on maintaining Sages fitness, and most importantly strength and conditioning exercises. We use specific programs created by our amazing physio Genevieve Liebich - Central West Rehab Vet, who I highly recommend!

While building muscle with strength and conditioning exercises we’re also helping prevent the risk of injury. It’s also a great way to keep the dogs active during the summer!

Sage says ‘bring on race season’!

While on holidays we went on a hike 🥾⛰️

It was a tough one with a very steep ascent of 508m in a very short distance, and a steep descent to come back down. At times it seemed we were vertical with the trail going up and I have to say was glad to have two dogs hooked on and the use of the command up up! Not so handy going down though! Thankfully Luke was able to help guide us down and be the self proclaimed number one hiking dog handler!

The views over Lake Eildon were worth the effort and even the dogs enjoyed a howling session at the top 🤣🐾

This was a tough race with 40km+ head winds! The wind actually blew Sage off course when we were coming down ‘hell hill’!

Day 1 ~ Broulee Beach 🏖️
Seafood lunch by the water at Batemans Bay followed by a walk to look at the sculptures on Clyde River.

Part 2 ~ Macedon Ranges ⛰️
Yesterday we took part in the ANKC Backpacking Event held by the Alaskan Malamute Club of Victoria at Mt Macedon. It was a great, well organised event and involved some decent hiking! We hiked 16.5km with an acsent / descent of 479km! Our legs definitely felt it 😆

Carrying 15% of her body weight
Both dogs done extremely well carrying their weighted backpacks and walking with a group of other dogs.
Belle was the best helper. I’m super grateful for her coming along to help out with the dogs and hiking with us 🤍
The dogs really enjoyed a massage after our hike and then today we made the trip home totalling a 1500km round trip! We always make the most of our trips away so today we stopped at The Big Strawberry and a nice little place for lunch and a milkshake 🥤🌯
It’s been a lovely few days away together! Hiking, enjoying good food, seeing lots of wildlife and exploring with the dogs. Perfect 👌🐾
