Hey all,

Thanks for all the support over the past couple years.

I have recently had an accident due to my own fault and I ended with a broken nose, frontal lobe and under eye sockets. Although I am fine now I will be the first to admit it may take a while to find my seat in the saddle with the same confidence I had before.
For this reason among others I will not be taking on or continuing any client work until further notice as I would be doing more damage to not only my confidence but I would also be unable to give a standard of training or work that I’d be happy with.
I will keep this page open for any questions, advice or direction. I have a few recommendations of trainers if anyone is needing their horses broken, brought back into work or sale prepped so please don’t hesitate to ask.

Again thank you all for the support!

Have someone patching it thanks for all the messages

Please share!
Looking more someone who can fix a saddle seat that’s been eaten by mice, had a quote that is definitely over budget and just want a few more quotes before deciding if a new saddle is a better option!
Thanks all🤙🏼

ELGIN has been sold to a wonderful home pending payment and pick up☺️
16.1-16.2hh
8 turning 9
Suitable for confident beginner upwards.
Easy to catch, walks on a float with no worries at all, stands for his feet to be done, easy to lunge, love cuddles and will do anything for food.
This bloke will take anything in his stride. I think he would love showing or jumping (has jumped up to 1.10m) or possibly even trail riding but I believe he would be amazing at anything offered to him.
Asking price is 5🥕🥕🥕

Went for a drive today and had a look at these three.
A little 6 year old mare who was broken in last year but hasn’t been ridden in about 6 months, a 15yr old stallion who’s broken in but not ridden for around 5 or 6 years and an old stockhorse gelding who wasn’t in work for 12 months, he is gorgeous and absolutely the definition of push button but we need to work on his head collection.
They are all coming back into ridden work and all have their own issues to work on but aren’t these guys just gorgeous! 😍

Taking expressions of interest now, to be sold late August/early September 🤩

Let’s hear it for Elgin👏🏼
This horse is bloody tops. Originally picked up for Hayden as a pleasure horse, off the track and spelled for two months and we brought him in last weekend.
5 minutes lunging in the round yard, I jumped on and rode him walk and trot. I told Hayden to open up the gate and went for a little canter. I then told Hayden to grab a bucket and climb aboard his new long awaited steed. Keep in mind Hayden, although confident, is still beginner. And here we are, second ride in and this horse is unstoppable.
However Hayden this afternoon has had a long hard think and has decided that Elgin deserves more then he has to offer with his beautiful movement and jumping potential, no hesitation and so confident facing a jump.
Next weekend Elgin and Hayden are off to a clinic with Missy and myself. And after that is where I come in. For the next 2 months I will be giving this horse every opportunity to show his true skill in showing and jumping. I will be attending local shows and possibly rally days.
(Photos taken today ridden by Hayden)
I will be taking expressions of interest and he will be available late August/Early September.
Please PM for more details

Every hoof forward is a step in the right direction. Missy is going in leaps and bounds. After around a month off riding her due to her losing too much condition, we are back at it and today I gave her a go at jumping. Even a small jump is a massive leap in progress.
However all breakthroughs in training do show where needs more improvement and today we saw lots of rushing away from the jump and not focusing heading into it. This is obviously common when a horse is first learning to jump with the excitement and nerves running through them. This is the next step to work on.
We will also be working on building more top line and muscle with lunging and ridden trot work but I’m very happy with how she is going🤩

Top 5 TIPS on selecting a trainer to send your horse to 👏🏼♥️

TAG an amazing trainer!

1). Do your damn research! Referrals are often KEY. 🔑 Look into why people are happy with this trainer. Look at videos of horses they’ve trained. Chat with owners about their experience with their steed after its come home.

2). Choose someone PASSIONATE about your horse! 🤠This is a biggie. If you’re an endurance rider, try and find a trainer thats lit up by your sport and breed. If you’re into cows, select that trainer that wakes up every day watching cutting over their coffee. 🐮 Maybe horsemanship is your jam? Pinpoint a trainer that aligns with your thoughts! When your trainer lives eats and breathes their/your ‘thing’ they’ll pour their expertise into your horse!

3). Don’t bawk at pricing. 💰 You want a solid job done? Grab your wallet…

4). Seek out trainers that you can follow up with. Its a tall order picking up a green horse and having zero support afterwards. 👣Ask if they’ll give you some lessons afterwards to show you exactly how your horse operates under saddle. You’ll set yourself up for success!

5). Don’t rush! 🫣You’ll have this horse potentially for 20 years to ride. Why rush that initial starting process? Wait for a spot if needed. Don’t be stingy on the timeline either- an extra month with a pro can make a HUGE difference if you’re playing the long game! 🙏🏽

Who was the SUPERSTAR that trained your horse?
Can you think of anything you’d add?

She is easy to catch, great for the farrier, generally a lovely horse with a lot of potential.
Currently in paddock condition.
Hasn’t been in work for the past 4 months. Would suit a confident rider due to her height and strength.
They have owned her for one year however have her on agistment in Mossvale and are in Sydney. The sale is due to no fault of her own but they have been unable to give her the time she needs.

We have all seen about this gorgeous standy mare in my previous posts. Her owners have decided to bite the bullet and offer her early to reduce herd size.
She would be suitable as a surrogate, broodmare, companion, trail riding or lead line horse.
With her very minor symptoms of wobblers she has been vet cleared for light riding and trail riding. Dental and vet report can be provided on request.

Charlie went home today🥳
Yesterday we went for a ride and what an awesome ride it was! I’m not going to say he was angel from the get go with a fair bit of pulling and head throwing, it was typical off the track forward moving not one bit of malice in it.
After half an hour, he was settled and walking on a loose rein, past sheep and tractors in the paddock, splashing in the dam and opening gates.
I hope all the best to Charlie and his owner and their adventures together💞

The super loveable Charlie🤩
I’ve been work him during the week between working at my other jobs.
With a typical off the track attitude he is very forward moving and can be impatient, but he has only had a few shorter rides over the week and tomorrow he will be getting a nice big ride under his belt 😁
He is unfazed by farm machinery, cars and trucks and didn’t mind when I swung myself up onto him ba****ck or stood up on the saddle just to push the boundaries.🙊
Standing for long periods during a ride isn’t his strong point but this will come with more work.

Here’s a few photos of how the week has looked for him so far😁

Yesterday I went to look at Charlie, this gorgeous OTTB that a client bought sight unseen and 6 weeks out of work, and wanted him ridden prior to them riding. He had been broken by a trainer that put lots of effort in to him prior to racing and was an absolute pleasure to ride. ⭐️
The client asked for me to take him for the week to work him and give him a bit of on farm and trail riding exposure.

This is something I am happy to do for anyone needing that extra bit of assurance that their new best friend is safe and sound to ride when they get it home.

Introducing April🤩
This 12 yr old standy mare came to a friend about a year ago.
She came as a beginners horse with extremely mild wobblers disease, she is still fit for light riding with vet clearance and she was bought to ride but also as a companion for their other horse.
Now due to getting more horses and no longer needing her as a companion and having too many horses on their hands, her owners have decided that she deserves to be loved and doted over by a family who has the time for her and I’ve been asked to work with her and bring her back into work pre sale.
Having only been saddled and ridden a handful of times since being bought today. I hopped on and she didn’t move a muscle. I told her to step off and with a few nudges away she went. She did pace when I pushed for a canter and that is something I am going to be largely working on with her.
She will be for sale in the near future and we are hoping she will go where she will be one for the whole family. She will be perfect to lead kids on or great for trail rides or poke around the stock on.
I know there is a lot of stigma around standardbreds but she is a standy you won’t want to miss.

Please PM for more information and price.

Some ridden videos will be in the comments - I will post any new videos and information in regards to her progress over the next few weeks.

Affectionately Missy
I couldn’t have asked for more, we are going to work on the stopping a bit more and try lighten her up a bit and keeping her head down nicely in that frame but I can see so much potential shining through.
