Meet King Lewie, furry love of my life.
Lewis is a 9 year old long haired chihuahua X poodle (yes a choodle š) and is just as full of beans as the day he came into my care at just 9 weeks old.
But Lewis has always suffered from separation anxiety and at times itās been a challenging roadā¦
š¾upsetting neighbours with barking/crying
š¾council knocking on the door
š¾Not eating unless Iām home
š¾ Panting and yapping in the car
š¾The general stress of knowing your dog is not happy
On and off itās been a challenge depending on my work hours and how settled he is at home (being home through lockdowns really messed with that!).
And then this year happened. Not only 1, but 4 different homes in 4 months. And when I finally found THE home and got settled Lewis would not settle at all. I still had to go to work but he would howl, cry and bark. He wasnāt eating and I could not step one foot outside my front door without him starting so would have to take him absolutely everywhere or just not go outā¦fearful my neighbours would be calling council and worrying about my little mate every single day.
So I became an expert in all things for anxious pets at home, when out and in transit. I learnt that different things work for different dogs (and different owners) and what works best for small dogs. And Itās because of this research that the brand King Lewie was born.
