🎉 We have some exciting news to share here at Jokinen Park! 🎉 We are thrilled to announce that our lovely Golden Retriever Heidi is expecting a beautiful litter of F1 medium and mini Groodles with the handsome mini poodle Kenobi from QLD! 💖 This special pairing was made possible through frozen semen, and Heidi’s ultrasound scan this week confirmed we are expecting 11 adorable puppies!!! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 Both Heidi & Obi have amazing temperaments and are DNA cleared of genetic diseases with excellent hip scoring results to ensure these pups will be healthy with high trainability 🩺🦮 Heidi is also a lower shed Golden Retriever as she carries a rare copy of the low shed MC5R gene, which with a pairing with Obi being a mini poodle means these pups will have lower shed fleece coats in a variety of colours than a typical F1 Groodle 🙌 Stay tuned for more updates and the arrival of these precious bundles expected by mid August 🐾✨ Those on our waitlist will be contacted as first priority upon the safe arrival of this litter.

🐾 Puppy Training Tips with Zena & Zorro 🐾 To build confident, resilience and a well balanced puppy, it’s SO important to get your new puppy out and about to experience car trips, new sights, sounds, and smells of new places to explore. Puppies have an early window up to 16 weeks of age where they absorb new experiences and training like a sponge - so ensure you are empowering them to learn self confidence and trust in you as their handler in this early socialisation window. 🙌 Here’s a snippet of our Jokinen Park Zena & Zorro on a Bunnings and playground adventure today. Notice how a lot of this early socialisation can be done by simply sitting with your puppy and allowing them to observe their new environment, offering praise and encouragement when they stay calm and grounded. Kids screaming, running, bikes and scooters rocketing past, noisy wayward Bunnings trolleys, beeping machinery, you name it - it’s all new and scary for a 12 week old puppy. Allowing them to observe their new environment while sitting quietly or staying close to you is a BIG win and a positive outcome to aim for. 🌟 Start slow with these new outings to build confidence - by which you will need to empower your puppy by intervening if you notice they are becoming overwhelmed. This may include telling any strangers or kids or dogs you cross paths with that rushes in to meet your puppy to hold up, and wait until your puppy is ready to be approached by them (i.e. when your puppy takes the first steps forward towards them). It’s important to take all of these early interactions and experiences in slow steps vs pushing your puppy too fast, too early as that can create anxiety.
